The People & Culture Department

The People and Culture department at Norton Rose Fulbright comprises Human Resources, Talent & Resourcing, Diversity & Social Impact, and Learning and Development.

The Role

The People Data Analyst supports the delivery of people reporting, data quality and HR systems activities across EMEA. Working closely with the People & Culture Data Lead, the role provides operational reporting support, maintains data accuracy, and assists with the production of workforce insights that help inform business decisions.

This role is ideal for someone at the start of their data career who is looking to develop experience in HR systems, reporting, analytics and data governance.

Key Responsibilities

Reporting & Data Support

  • Produce and distribute scheduled workforce and HR reports.
  • Support ad hoc reporting requests from stakeholders.
  • Extract, validate and format data from Workday and other HR systems.
  • Assist with producing diversity, recruitment and workforce metrics.
  • Prepare data for surveys, benchmarking exercises and regulatory reporting.
  • Support dashboard maintenance and updates.

Data Quality & Governance

  • Perform routine data quality checks and audits.
  • Identify data discrepancies and escalate issues as required.
  • Support the maintenance of data definitions, reporting documentation and user guides.
  • Assist with testing reports and validating system changes.
  • Support the administration of subject access requests and data deletion/purge requests in accordance with firm policies and data protection requirements.

HR Systems & User Support

  • Provide first-line support for reporting and data-related queries.
  • Assist with ServiceNow tickets and HRIS inbox requests.
  • Support mass data updates and uploads.
  • Produce user guidance and training materials.
  • Escalate complex issues to senior team members.

Continuous Improvement

  • Identify opportunities to improve reporting processes.
  • Assist with automation and process simplification initiatives.
  • Support adoption of self-service reporting tools.
  • Contribute ideas to improve data quality and user experience.

Skills & Experience

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills and confidence working with data.
  • Ability to organise and prioritise work effectively.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to learn new systems and processes quickly.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues across different teams.
  • Comfortable handling confidential and sensitive information.
  • Interest in data, reporting, analytics and continuous improvement.
  • Positive attitude, curiosity and willingness to learn.

Desirable

  • Experience using Excel beyond basic functionality.
  • Awareness of reporting, analytics or visualisation tools such as Power BI.
  • Exposure to Workday or other HR systems through study, placement, internship or part-time work.
  • Experience handling or analysing data through university projects, placements, internships or previous employment.
  • Interest in people analytics, HR systems or business reporting.
  • Awareness of data protection and confidentiality requirements.

Qualifications

Essential

  • GCSE (or equivalent) Maths and English.

Desirable

  • Degree, apprenticeship or professional qualification in Business, Data Analytics, Information Systems, HR, Mathematics or a related discipline.
  • Microsoft Excel, Power BI or data analytics training or certification.
  • Workday learning, coursework or introductory accreditation.

Contract Details

  • Duration: 6 Months FTC
  • Location:  UK Office based with hybrid flexibility
  • Reporting to: People & Culture Data Lead

The role offers exposure to Workday, data governance, reporting processes and continuous improvement activity while building a strong foundation for a future career in data, HR systems or analytics.
