Job Purpose & Key Responsibilities

(1) Regional Planning

Continuous supply into market

1. Act as the primary liaison between Global Planning and the Market Supply Chain for launched products, ensuring alignment with the franchise and facilitating communication with the E2E team, including sharing market stock levels, supply risks, and market dynamics.

2. Participate in SCIM meetings to coordinate responses to supply challenges, including regional impacts, and ensure product plans align with demand managers' forecasting expectations in collaboration with Global Planning.

3. Work with the market on supply requirements, support regional issues with CS&L and Pharma Logistics to resolve constraints and delays, and join crisis meetings (e.g., BCP, SRMT) to address critical supply issues.

4. Provide regional support for New Product Introductions (NPI), product transfers/divestments, and discontinuations, and support in reporting, analysis, and root causing of supply and service KPIs.

5. Regularly check and review supply planning parameters in the ERP system across all supply nodes in line with inventory and service policies, escalate unresolved issues, understand and assess changes to minimize risks from proposed changes.

Quality

Understand and perform assessments in the Change Control Process to minimize risks from proposed changes, identify and register supply risks derived from quality into RMS for stakeholder awareness, conduct robust RCA with support from CQA members to prevent similar deviations, complete relevant QMS training, and provide supply-related information at LIC/PIRCs to aid decision making.

(2) Site planning

1. Develop an optimal, achievable supply plan for a SKU subset aligned to a manufacturing resource or group of resources for the full planning horizon, and work with Site teams to validate capacity, including quality, engineering, and production scheduling.

2. Translate the 24-month supply plan into a projection for critical APIs, raw materials, and components, ensure product availability at the point of sale within inventory and service policies, and maintain accurate supply planning parameters in the ERP system, regularly reviewing demonstrated performance against SC design.

3. Adjust the supply plan to optimize multiple change processes, review potential service impacts based on agreed tier segmentation, and take appropriate action to minimize impact, escalating any constraints leading to service impact according to the SCIM process.

4. Provide input for the Supply Review Meeting (SRM) as part of the Core Commercial Cycle (CCC), execute and support inventory optimization activities with Global Planning, and manage stock at risk for the SKU subset, including production materials, intermediates, and finished goods.

5. Ensure E2E cost optimization through appropriate use of transport methods, demonstrate proficiency in supply chain planning functional use and data management in SAP APO and ECC, and escalate any unresolved issues to the Regional Supply Chain Lead and Global Supply Chain Planning team for resolution.

(3) People management, governance management as delegate or deputy for the Product Supply Management Lead

Where required, acting as a delegate or deputy for the Regional Supply Chain Lead.

Basic Qualification

Experience

  • Regional understanding – experience of working with commercial sales and marketing teams particularly in a pharma or other highly regulated environment would be advantageous

  • Experience of SAP or similar system
  • Business acumen

Education/certification/Language

  • University graduate or relevant practical experience
  • English: Business level / Japanese: Native level

Preferred Qualification

Skill

  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills in English, and preferably fluency in one or more additional languages appropriate to the Cluster/Region covered by the Supply Planning team.  This is Region-dependent but may include French, Spanish, Arabic etc.
  • Strong planning ability & able to work on own initiative.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to lead and work across cross-functional teams.
  • Highly numerate and good knowledge of supply chain systems and processes. Knowledge of SAP APO (Demand Planning, Supply Network Planning) is an advantage.
  • Proactively seeks opportunities to increase value by raising standards & championing best practices

Experience

  • Experience of implementing supply chain related system such as SAP, OMP, etc.

Education/certification/Language

  • Supply Chain Professional qualifications (CSCP, CPIM, etc.) are advantage.
