Intern - Social Media Manager
At VML South Africa, we create ideas that connect brands with people in meaningful ways. If you're passionate about social media, love spotting trends, and know how to turn engagement into impact, we'd love to meet you.
As a Social Media Manager Intern, you'll support the Social Media team in planning, managing, and growing our clients' online communities while gaining hands-on experience in a fast-paced creative agency.
What You'll Do
- Assist in planning and managing content calendars across multiple social media platforms.
- Schedule and publish content on social media channels.
- Monitor social media conversations and engage with online communities.
- Support campaign planning and execution across digital platforms.
- Track social media performance and assist with reporting and insights.
- Research social media trends, platform updates, and audience behaviors.
- Collaborate with Content Creators, Designers, Copywriters, Strategists, and Client Service teams.
- Participate in brainstorming sessions and contribute creative ideas for campaigns.
What you’ll need :
- Currently enrolled in a bachelor's degree or Diploma in Marketing, Communications, Media Studies, Digital Marketing, Public Relations, Creative Brand Communication, or a related field.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong understanding of major social media platforms and current digital trends.
- Creative thinking with an eye for engaging content.
- Basic knowledge of social media management and analytics tools is advantageous.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Detail-oriented, proactive, and eager to learn.
- Passion for building online communities and creating meaningful brand experiences.
