Requirements
Outline of Key Responsibilities of the Home Ownership & Commercial Co-ordinator role…
- Lead and support the Home Ownership & Commercial team, creating a positive, customer-focused and high-performing culture.
- Oversee the day-to-day management of shared ownership, leasehold, home ownership and commercial properties.
- Ensure the efficient management of shared ownership sales and resales, leasehold services and commercial lettings.
- Drive service performance, monitoring key targets and implementing improvements to maximise customer satisfaction and income collection.
- Manage leasehold and commercial agreements, ensuring compliance with current legislation, policies and best practice.
- Oversee lease extensions, freehold sales, rent reviews, legal enquiries and lease breaches, working closely with solicitors and other stakeholders where required.
- Work collaboratively with Asset Management, Compliance, Development, Sales, Finance and Neighbourhood teams to deliver seamless services for customers.
- Lead on Section 20 consultation processes, ensuring statutory requirements are met and customers are kept informed throughout.
- Monitor budgets, service charges and operational performance, ensuring value for money and effective financial management.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, contractors, legal representatives and external partners.
- Identify opportunities to improve processes, enhance customer journeys and drive continuous service improvement.
- Keep up to date with changes in housing legislation and ensure services remain fully compliant.
We Are Looking for Someone Who Has…
- Experience working within the housing or property sector in a home ownership, leasehold or commercial property management role.
- Proven experience of leading, motivating and developing a successful team.
- Strong knowledge of shared ownership, leasehold management, commercial property management and relevant housing legislation.
- Experience of managing service charges, income recovery and legal processes relating to home ownership and leasehold services.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to work confidently with customers, colleagues and external stakeholders.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and deliver results.
- A proactive, solution-focused approach with excellent attention to detail.
- Good IT skills and experience of using housing management systems and Microsoft Office.
- A recognised housing qualification, such as CIH Level 4 in Housing Management, or a willingness to work towards this qualification.

- Salary: £43,140 per annum
- Annual salary increment increases
- 27 days annual leave (rising to 32 over 5 years’ service) + bank holidays
- Hybrid working, 1 day a week in the Halifax, Wakefield, or Blackburn Office.
- You will be required to attend other offices as a team manager for rotational team days.
