Graduate Infrastructure Engineer Programme London 2027
Maven Securities is a leading proprietary trading firm that leverages sophisticated technology and quantitative analysis to trade in global financial markets. We specialise in options and derivatives market making, where your skills can be directly applied to have a real impact.
At Maven, we believe exceptional careers are built deliberately. Our graduate programme is designed for a small number of high-potential individuals each year, combining comprehensive training, real responsibility, and long-term development. We don’t hire large classes with the expectation that only a few will succeed, we invest in every individual who joins the team.
Programme details:
- Location: London
- Programme start date: September 2027
- Application deadline: October 2027 - Exact date to be confirmed
Programme streams: You will specialise in Linux or Networks, though you'll gain exposure to the full gamut
You’ll begin with a structured training programme covering multiple areas of the business, designed to prepare you for a career in infrastructure engineering. This initial phase focuses on building the technical foundations and professional skills needed for the role.
Following the training you'll transition onto a more specialised technical team, allowing you to build a deep understanding and expertise in a specific domain.
What you will be doing and how you will learn:
- Keep trading-critical Linux systems running at the speed the business needs. Build and tune RHEL/Ubuntu estates that host our live trading environment. Gain exposure to kernel and NIC tuning for low-latency workloads, understand and control how servers allocate resources to processes, customise the OS and develop the automation (via Ansible, Python, Bash) that lets us build, patch and rebuild our hosts.
- Operate and harden the network that market data and orders travel over. Work hands-on with Arista/Cisco/Juniper switching, BGP and OSPF routing, and multicast market data feeds - including packet capture and latency analysis when microseconds matter and something needs explaining to a trading desk
- Sit inside real incidents, not shadow them from the sidelines. Join on-call rotations alongside senior engineers, work P1s end-to-end during market hours, and learn how a five-minute network blip during the open gets root-caused and fixed before it becomes a desk-wide problem
- Build the observability that catches problems before traders do. Instrument systems and network paths with Prometheus, Grafana, and our logging stack; contribute to the dashboards and alerting that the infra teams live in every day
- Attend regular check-ins with the Infrastructure and Emerging Talent teams
Who you are:
Key criteria:
- A final-year undergraduate or master’s student from one of the following degree backgrounds, or similar: Networking, Network Security, Computer Science, Software Engineering
- Ability to adapt to a dynamic and high-paced environment

We’re looking for someone who is:
- An entrepreneurial thinker with the ability to generate ideas, take initiative and drive innovation
- A critical problem solver and decision maker who can analyse situations, think clearly and make effective decisions
- An agile learner who is able to quickly acquire knowledge, take on feedback, adapt and apply insights across different contexts
- Able to synthesise information, resolve conflicting inputs, see the bigger picture, and translate complex information into actionable recommendations
- Collaborative and influential, able to build trust, work effectively with others and positively impact the team
