Filling & Packaging Operator (Shift A) – Fixed-Term Project Role

Location: Cambridge, Bard Manufacturing Site
Contract: Fixed-Term (Project-Linked)
Job Type: Full Time (Shift A)

Join us and make a difference when it matters most!

At Mundipharma, we are proud of the work we do to bring innovative treatments to patients. We challenge ourselves constantly to deliver more for patients, healthcare professionals, our partners, and our employees.

About the role

This is a fixed-term, project-linked role created solely to maintain continuity of routine supply on Bard's existing (legacy) Filling & Packaging lines while permanent operators are released to act as workplace trainers and trainees for the new expansion assets (Lines 24, 25, 26 and associated equipment).

The role exists only for the duration of the Filling & Packaging Expansion Training Workstream and will conclude when that workstream is complete. The post-holder supports the safe, efficient, and compliant operation of legacy packaging lines only, ensuring accurate packaging of Bard's commercial products to approved specifications, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) requirements so that customer supply is protected during the transition period.

The post-holder will not be trained, assessed, qualified, deployed, or scheduled on any new expansion line or asset.

Your key responsibilities

  • Assist in the set-up, start-up, and changeover of designated legacy Filling & Packaging lines, working to approved SOPs and accurately completing batch documentation to support daily production targets during the expansion transition period.

  • Operate designated legacy packaging equipment safely and effectively while maintaining established operating standards.

  • Uphold product quality standards throughout all packaging activities in line with approved specifications and regulatory requirements.

Drive Operational Performance

  • Monitor equipment performance, identify abnormalities, and escalate issues promptly to minimise downtime and protect Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) on legacy lines.

  • Support delivery of production schedules by maintaining operational efficiency and responding appropriately to equipment or process issues.

  • Contribute to reliable customer supply through consistent performance on assigned legacy lines.

Maintain Continuous Improvement & Workplace Standards

  • Maintain high housekeeping standards through the application of 5S and GEMBA principles.

  • Participate in continuous improvement activities that enhance safety, quality, compliance, and operational effectiveness on legacy packaging lines.

  • Promote good workplace practices that support productivity and operational excellence.

Collaborate Across Teams

  • Communicate effectively during shift handovers to ensure continuity of operations across Shift A and wider manufacturing teams.

  • Work collaboratively with cross-functional colleagues to ensure smooth, uninterrupted legacy-line operation while permanent operators are engaged in expansion training activities.

  • Escalate production, quality, or equipment concerns appropriately to support timely resolution.

Ensure Compliance, Quality & Safety

  • Follow all GMP requirements and maintain training compliance within the defined legacy-line scope.

  • Comply fully with company policies and Health, Safety & Environmental (HS&E) standards.

  • Complete production records and batch documentation accurately and in a timely manner.

  • Ensure all packaging activities are performed in accordance with approved procedures, quality standards, and regulatory requirements.
