The Field Compliance & Operations Manager (FCOM) supports consistent patient safety, regulatory compliance, and operational standards. The FCOM oversees quality improvement initiatives and maintains compliance with healthcare regulations. The FCOM travels across more than 20 Urology practices in the central and southern regions of the state to audit, educate and ensure regulatory requirements are met. Serves as the point person when regulators visit practices, fields questions and guides them on walkthroughs as needed. The FCOM ensures practices remain survey ready.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement policies and procedures: Prepare practice policies, standard operating procedures (SOP)’s and quality manuals to ensure consistent care standards
  • Monitor and assess quality: Conduct audits, risk assessments, and performance evaluations to identify areas for improvement in patient care and practice operations
  • Regulatory operations: Responsible for operational regulatory compliance, with escalation to USUP Legal/Compliance as appropriate. Ensure adherence to accreditation standards such as NJDOH, CMS, OSHA, AAAHC, CLIA and other regulatory requirements.   
  • Data analysis and reporting: Collect, analyze and report quality metrics to track performance against established benchmarks
  • Staff training and development: Provide education, tools and techniques to associate, maintain and improve quality standards.  Serve as the point person for questions from associates regarding patient safety and regulatory compliance.  Partners with practice leaders and associates to identify gaps, recommend appropriate remediation steps, and support follow-up activities to promote sustained compliance and operational consistency to support survey readiness.
  • Coordination and communication: Liaise with clinical and administrative teams, as well as external regulatory bodies to maintain quality systems and certifications
  • Continuous improvement initiatives: Lead projects to enhance patient safety, satisfaction, and operational efficiency
  • Regulatory changes: Stays current on all regulatory requirements and ensures that updated posters are placed in areas that are prominently displayed in practices

Education and/or Experience

  • Five plus years in ambulatory healthcare, physician practice, hospital outpatient operations, quality, regulatory compliance or patient safety.
  • Bachelor's degree in relevant fields of study such as Healthcare Administration or Business Administration is required. Master's Degree preferred.

Language Skills

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.  Ability to write routine correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before individuals or groups of people.

Computer Skills

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of basic computer software. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Teams.  Familiarization with spreadsheets and reporting tools for audit, compliance with the analytical ability to identify patterns across 20+ sites.  Ability to assess quality and operational data using shared files, and virtual communication platforms to support multiple practice locations.

The employee may lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. 

Work Environment

This job operates in a professional office environment.  This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

Travel

Travel is primarily local during the business day. 

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position.  Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, approximately 8 hours per workday.
