The Role: Electrical Supervisor

Join our team as an Electrical Supervisor, working alongside Project and Production Managers to deliver high-quality electrical outcomes across major projects. In this full-time, permanent role based at Garden Island, you’ll lead a skilled team, uphold safety and quality standards, and support the successful delivery of operational requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a team of trades and non-trades staff, ensuring high-quality workmanship and full OH&S compliance.
• Provide technical support, guidance, and reporting on electrical tasks and project deliverables.
• Plan, estimate and schedule work activities, ensuring smooth and efficient delivery.
• Oversee personnel administration, team compliance, and adherence to company processes and standards.
• Deliver on-the-job training, mentor apprentices, and support upskilling across the team.
• Interpret drawings to manufacture, assemble and install electrical components, using workshop equipment safely and effectively.
• Monitor team performance, identify development needs, and support continuous improvement.

Your Skills:

• Advanced Engineering Tradesperson with a NSW Electrical Licence.
• Experience in electrical engineering within shipbuilding, repair or related industries.
• Knowledge of commercial quality, safety requirements and industry-recognised Quality Assurance systems.
• Milspec plugging, cable termination or fibre optic experience (desirable).
• Basic rigging or forklift ticket (desirable).
• Certificate IV in Frontline Supervision or equivalent experience in a leadership role.
• Eligible to obtain a Defence Security Clearance and ITARs clearance.
