We are looking for a Director – Solution Architecture to lead the architecture and delivery of complex healthcare technology solutions for strategic enterprise clients across the United States. This is a senior, client-facing leadership role focused on designing scalable solutions, driving complex implementations, translating business and regulatory requirements into technology capabilities, and ensuring successful enterprise adoption.

The role will work closely with senior client stakeholders, product, engineering, implementation, operations, and commercial teams. You will own solution architecture across the full lifecycle—from discovery and solution design through implementation, go-live, optimization, and continuous improvement.

The ideal candidate combines strong healthcare domain expertise with enterprise architecture, implementation leadership, stakeholder management, and the ability to translate complex operational requirements into practical, scalable technology solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Enterprise Solution Architecture

• Own solution architecture for a portfolio of strategic enterprise healthcare accounts from initial discovery through implementation and steady state.
• Understand complex client workflows, business objectives, operational challenges, regulatory requirements, and technology environments.
• Design scalable, secure, and configurable solutions that address multi-site, multi-state, and multi-payer requirements.
• Translate business and operational requirements into detailed solution architectures, workflows, integrations, configurations, and implementation plans.
• Serve as the senior architectural counterpart to client technology, operations, finance, and business leadership.
• Ensure solutions align with product capabilities, technical standards, security requirements, and long-term scalability.

Solution Design & Implementation

• Lead architecture and solution design for complex enterprise implementations involving multiple locations, states, payers, workflows, and system integrations.
• Define system configuration, integration dependencies, data flows, workflows, and implementation sequencing.
• Work with implementation and engineering teams to ensure architectural decisions are translated accurately into production-ready solutions.
• Identify implementation risks, dependencies, technical constraints, and opportunities for standardization early in the lifecycle.
• Develop reusable architecture patterns, configuration templates, solution frameworks, and implementation playbooks.
• Drive continuous improvement by identifying recurring implementation challenges and addressing them at the platform or architecture level.

Healthcare Revenue Cycle & Domain Architecture

• Apply strong knowledge of US healthcare revenue cycle processes to solution design, particularly outpatient and professional billing environments.
• Translate requirements related to payer rules, claims processing, denials, eligibility, payment posting, reimbursement, and revenue cycle workflows into scalable technology solutions.
• Understand healthcare transactions and standards including 837, 835, 270/271, 277CA, EDI, ERA, and payer enrollment.
• Incorporate requirements related to CMS-1500, UB-04, claim edits, NCCI logic, modifiers, therapy-specific billing rules, claim scrubbing, remit reconciliation, and payment workflows.
• Evaluate regulatory and payer changes and assess their implications for product architecture, integrations, and solution design.
• Identify recurring operational or billing issues and work with product and engineering teams to address root causes through platform capabilities rather than manual intervention.

Enterprise Pre-Sales & Solution Consulting

• Act as the senior solution architecture expert during enterprise sales pursuits, RFPs, discovery sessions, technical evaluations, and client presentations.
• Lead solution discovery with prospective clients to understand business, operational, technical, and integration requirements.
• Define what can realistically be delivered within existing product and technical capabilities and identify areas requiring customization or product enhancement.
• Develop solution proposals, architecture approaches, implementation assumptions, integration strategies, and technical responses for enterprise opportunities.
• Partner with sales and commercial teams to ensure technical commitments are accurate, achievable, and clearly documented.
• Ensure requirements are captured effectively and handed over to implementation teams without unnecessary re-discovery or ambiguity.

Product & Technology Strategy

• Translate enterprise customer requirements into actionable product and engineering requirements.
• Partner with product leadership to influence roadmap priorities based on recurring customer needs, market requirements, and healthcare industry changes.
• Identify opportunities to improve platform scalability, configurability, automation, interoperability, and operational efficiency.
• Evaluate opportunities to leverage automation and AI across healthcare workflows and revenue cycle processes.
• Establish reusable architectural standards and patterns that enable faster implementation of future enterprise accounts.
• Contribute to technical documentation, solution standards, architecture guidelines, and organizational knowledge repositories.

Cross-Functional Leadership

• Work effectively across product, engineering, implementation, operations, sales, finance, compliance, and customer-facing teams.
• Lead through influence across cross-functional teams without relying solely on direct reporting structures.
• Provide architectural guidance and mentorship to solution architects, implementation teams, and other technical stakeholders.
• Establish clear ownership, decision-making frameworks, escalation paths, and delivery standards for complex solutions.
• Communicate complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Architecture Governance & Performance

• Establish and maintain architecture standards, design principles, integration patterns, and solution governance processes.
• Review proposed solutions for scalability, security, reliability, interoperability, and maintainability.
• Monitor implementation and solution performance and identify opportunities for optimization.
• Use data and operational insights to identify recurring issues, evaluate solution effectiveness, and drive improvements.
• Ensure enterprise solutions meet agreed business outcomes, technical standards, and implementation timelines.

What We're Looking For

Must-Have

• 12–16 years of experience in solution architecture, enterprise architecture, healthcare technology, revenue cycle technology, or related domains.
• Strong experience designing and implementing enterprise healthcare solutions for large, multi-site or multi-state provider organizations.
• Deep understanding of US healthcare revenue cycle processes, including professional billing, commercial insurance, Medicare/Medicaid, claims, denials, appeals, and payment workflows.
• Strong working knowledge of healthcare interoperability and transaction standards, including EDI, 837, 835, 270/271, 277CA, and ERA.
• Experience leading complex implementations involving multiple systems, integrations, locations, states, and payer requirements.
• Strong understanding of healthcare technology environments, including EMR/EHR, practice management, RCM, and healthcare SaaS platforms.
• Excellent spoken and written English with the ability to independently lead executive-level business and technical discussions with US-based clients.
• Strong stakeholder management and cross-functional leadership skills.
• Ability to translate complex business requirements into scalable technical architectures and actionable implementation plans.
• Data-driven and structured approach to problem-solving, architecture decisions, and solution optimization.
• Comfortable working with teams and clients across US Eastern Time Zone working hours.

Strong Preference

• Experience with outpatient rehabilitation workflows, including PT, OT, or SLP billing.
• Knowledge of therapy-specific requirements such as the 8-minute rule, therapy thresholds, KX modifiers, plan-of-care certification, and therapy modifiers.
• Experience with multi-state Medicaid or workers' compensation environments.
• Experience working with healthcare SaaS, EMR/EHR, practice management, or RCM technology companies.
• Experience in startup or high-growth environments where architecture standards, implementation frameworks, and playbooks were built from the ground up.

Nice to Have

• Experience with facility billing and UB-04 workflows.
• Exposure to FQHC, CORF, ORF, mobile, or home-based healthcare environments.
• Pre-sales, solutions consulting, technical sales, or product management experience.
• Healthcare certifications such as CPC, COC, CRCR, CPB, CPMA, RHIA, or RHIT.
• Experience implementing automation, AI, or intelligent workflow solutions within healthcare or revenue cycle environments.
• Familiarity with HL7 and broader healthcare interoperability standards.
• Understanding of HIPAA, healthcare data security, and compliance requirements.
