The Director of Connected Commerce will lead the execution and advancement of Alcon OTC’s eCommerce and Retail Media capabilities, driving integrated sales and marketing performance across omni-channel retailers (e.g. Amazon, Walmart, Target, etc.).

This role owns the Connected Commerce agenda end-to-end, connecting Brand, Sales, and Media to deliver accelerated growth, stronger retailer partnerships, and best-in-class digital shelf execution. The Director will lead a cross-functional team spanning both commercial sales and digital marketing, ensuring aligned priorities, investment decisions, and performance outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the Connected Commerce strategy across eCommerce, Retail Media, and omnichannel marketing to drive sustainable growth and market leadership across key platforms (e.g., Amazon, Walmart, Target, DTC)

• Develop and execute integrated digital commerce plans across multiple retail partners, including assortment, pricing, and promotional strategies aligned with brand objectives

• Own and optimize retail media investments, including Amazon AVN and other platform-specific solutions, ensuring strong ROI, measurement rigor, and performance transparency

• Partner cross-functionally with brand, sales, and finance teams to align Joint Business Planning (JBP) priorities, marketing investments, and commercial targets

• Leverage advanced analytics, digital shelf tools, and shopper insights to improve discoverability, conversion, and overall customer experience

• Manage both sales and marketing levers within commerce environments to drive revenue growth, share gains, and profitability

• Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external partners (retailers, agencies, and technology platforms) to deliver best-in-class execution and innovation

• Identify and scale new commerce capabilities, tools, and partnerships to accelerate digital transformation within a matrixed organization

• Lead forecasting, budget management, and KPI tracking to ensure delivery against business objectives

• Build, lead, and develop a high-performing team while influencing cross-functional stakeholders and fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement

WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO ALCON:

• Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent years of directly related experience (or high school +18 yrs; Assoc.+14 yrs; M.S.+7 yrs; PhD+6 yrs)

• The ability to fluently read, write, understand and communicate in English

• 10 Years of Relevant Experience

• 6 Years of Demonstrated Leadership

Preferred Qualifications

• Deep experience across leading eCommerce and marketplace platforms (e.g., Amazon, Walmart, Target, DTC)

• Strong background in digital marketing, omnichannel strategy, and/or retail media

• Proven track record of delivering commercial results, including sales growth, market share, and profitability

• Demonstrated expertise in Retail Media strategy, performance marketing, and measurement frameworks

• Advanced knowledge of digital shelf optimization, retail analytics tools, and marketplace ecosystems

• Strong analytical mindset with experience leveraging data and insights to inform strategy and decision-making

• Experience managing significant marketing and media budgets with a focus on ROI and performance outcomes

• Background in OTC healthcare, CPG, or other fast-moving consumer goods categories preferred

• Proven people leadership experience, with a track record of building and developing high-performing teams

• Experience leading cross-functional initiatives and influencing stakeholders within a matrixed organization

• Demonstrated ability to build, scale, or transform commerce capabilities within complex organizations
