The successful block technician will be dependable, mechanically inclined, quality-focused, and willing to learn multiple Block Department processes. • Clean, degrease, blast, and prepare engine blocks and related components for inspection and machining.

    • Use micrometers, bore gauges, dial indicators, calipers, straightedges, and other precision tools to verify dimensions, clearances, surface condition, and machining results.
    • Install cam bearings, plugs, and other block components as required by the router and product specifications.
    • Deburr components, clean oil and coolant passages, chase or repair threaded holes, and complete final block preparation so no machining debris or contamination reaches assembly.
    • Complete all required in-process and final quality checks. Do not pass defects or questionable work to the next operation.
    • Accurately record labor, quantities, measurements, scrap, rework, and completed operations in MIE Trak and required inspection records.

    • Meet department expectations for safety, quality, output, utilization, efficiency, attendance, and on-time completion.

    • Perform routine operator maintenance, fluid checks, cleaning, and basic condition checks according to equipment requirements.
    • Maintain tooling, gauges, fixtures, and the work area in clean, organized, production-ready condition using 5S and visual standards.
    • Participate in daily team-board meetings, training, root-cause problem-solving, corrective actions, and continuous-improvement activities.
    • Follow all safety requirements, PPE rules, lockout/tagout procedures, lifting practices, quality procedures, and company policies.
    • Cross-train on multiple Block Department operations and support other production areas when directed by the Team Lead or Production Manager.
    • Perform other duties assigned by the supervisor.
