Job Description

JOB TITLE: DevOps Engineer

SALARY:  £48,987-£59,873

LOCATION(S): Edinburgh, Bristol, Manchester, Leeds

HOURS: Full-time

WORKING PATTERN: Our work style is hybrid, which involves spending at least two days per week, or 40% of our time, at one of our office sites

About this opportunity

Our Threat Intelligence Engineering team builds and maintains the platforms, integrations and automations that help turn intelligence into action. We work across a range of security and intelligence tooling, connecting data sources, automating workflows and developing services that enable analysts and security teams to make better decisions, faster.

As a DevOps Engineer, you'll play a key role in designing, building and supporting the CDCI Pipelines infrastructure and services that underpin our threat intelligence capability. You'll be working on modern engineering platforms and cloud-native solutions, helping to improve the quality, accessibility and value of intelligence across the organisation.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Developing and supporting build, test, and deployment pipelines using tools such as Harness, Git, Nexus, and Docker, ensuring software can be released safely and consistently.

  • Work with cloud-native technologies, Kubernetes, containers, networking, and platform services to host and operate applications across private and public cloud environments

  • Create and maintain automation for infrastructure, environments, and deployment processes, reducing manual effort and improving consistency across development and production platforms.

  • Work closely with software engineers, quality engineers, and product owners to remove bottlenecks, automate repetitive tasks, improve tooling, and accelerate software delivery.

  • Embed security controls into engineering processes, enforce approved build and release patterns, and ensure pipelines comply with policies and frameworks.

Why join us?

We’re on an exciting journey to transform our Group and the way we’re shaping finance for good. We’re focusing on the future, investing in our technologies, workplaces, and colleagues to make our Group a great place for everyone.

What we’re looking for

  • Strong experience designing, building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using Harness or equivalent enterprise CI/CD tooling. (2 years)

  • Proven experience with Terraform and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles. (2 years)

  • Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and cloud-native services. (2 year)

  • Strong understanding of Helm, Kubernetes and container orchestration. (1 year)

  • Hands-on experience with Docker and containerised application deployment. (2 years)

  • Strong knowledge of Git, GitHub and source control best practices. (2 years)

  • Strong scripting and automation skills (Python, Bash, PowerShell or similar).

And any of these would be great

  • Experience with Backstage or similar developer portal technologies.

  • Experience with observability, monitoring and SRE practices.

  • Knowledge of DevSecOps, platform security and policy-as-code approaches.

  • Experience building reusable developer self-service capabilities, templates and golden paths.

We know that great talent comes from many backgrounds. Whilst this job advert may reference specific years of experience, we recognise that skills are developed in many ways, so if you have relevant, transferable experience, we encourage you to apply.
