As a Custom Software Engineering Lead, a typical day involves overseeing the technical direction and architectural design of tailored software solutions. This role requires guiding teams through the entire development lifecycle, from initial design concepts to final delivery. The position demands ensuring that development practices meet high standards for quality, scalability, and performance, all while aligning with the broader business goals. Collaboration and leadership are central, as the role involves coordinating efforts across multiple teams to achieve cohesive and effective software outcomes.

Roles & Responsibilities:
- Solution Architecture DesignDefine endtoend architecture for PTC Windchill PLM implementations.Translate business requirements into scalable PLM solutions.Create high-level and detailed technical designs including integrations, workflows, data models, and customizations.Ensure alignment of solution architecture with business and IT strategy.
- Windchill Implementation CustomizationLead implementations of Windchill (PDMLink, MPMLink, ProjectLink) modules.Oversee and guide customizations using:Java / J2EEInfo*Engine WebjectsJCA/JSX componentsREST SOAP APIsOptimize performance, security, and configurations.
- Stakeholder ManagementWork closely with business stakeholders, engineering, manufacturing, and IT teams.Provide architecture guidance during requirement analysis.Conduct solution workshops and design reviews.
Governance Best PracticesEstablish PLM standards, reusable frameworks, and development guidelines.Define best practices for Windchill customization, workflows, and lifecycle processes.Conduct technical risk assessments and recommend mitigation strategies.
- Technical LeadershipMentor development and support teams.Perform code reviews and ensure adherence to design principles.Lead implementation teams through Agile/SDLC phases.
- Must be able to lead Windchill upgrades, deployment planning, and cutover activities.
