Overview:

Sentara Norfolk General Hospital is seeking Cooks for the Food Service Department

Shift - Full Time Rotating between days and evenings.

As a cook at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital, you will prepare all hot foods for patient trayline, café, and functions including (but not limited to) entrees, vegetables, starches, and bakery items.

The Food Handler Certification is only required in the following facilities: SNGH, SLH, SOH, SCH and SWRMC

(Up to $2,000 Sign-on Bonus for qualified candidates)

Education

• High School Grad or Equivalent (Preferred)

Certification/Licensure

• Food Handlers Card - Certification - Food Service Certification. Food Handlers (as required by local Health Department).

Experience

• Less than a year of Cook experience (Required)

• Less than a year of Food Service experience (Required)

Sentara Norfolk General Hospital, located in Norfolk, VA, is a 525-bed tertiary care facility that is home to the only Level I Adult Trauma Center and burn trauma unit in Hampton Roads, and also serves as the primary teaching hospital for Eastern Virginia Medical School.
