ABOUT THIS ROLE
We're looking for an organized, detail-oriented Configuration Specialist to own the initial setup and activation of new security units, offering knowledgeable recommendations that drive efficient, accurate configurations. You'll validate hardware setup and placement, assign and track units in our Video Management System, and configure cameras, presets, and settings to spec. Working cross-functionally with project managers, technicians, and support staff, you'll help ensure every unit reaches the field ready to perform.
This is a full-time, onsite role based at our American Fork, UT headquarters. Note: this position also requires registering with the State of Utah as an Alarm Agent, a process that includes a federal background check, fingerprinting, and an application — separate from the standard background check completed for general employment eligibility at LVT.
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Recommend system configurations that maximize efficiency and value for the customer.
- Complete the activation checklist for each new security unit, validating proper hardware setup and placement.
- Assign and log new units in the Video Management System (VMS) for accurate tracking and monitoring.
- Clear analytics and settings on each unit's hardware to guarantee a fresh, reliable start.
- Configure and validate presets, including camera angles, views, and other predefined settings.
- Verify and set accurate dates and times on each unit to maintain synchronization.
- Configure cameras remotely to optimize image quality, focus, coverage, and analytics performance.
- Maintain thorough, accurate records of each configuration, including completion forms and documentation.
- Escalate and resolve complex technical issues by collaborating cross-functionally with specialized teams.
- Partner with project managers, technicians, and support staff to drive successful, on-time activations.
OUR IDEAL CANDIDATE
- Technical Aptitude: Comfortable working hands-on with hardware components and software applications, with a solid understanding of video analytics and surveillance systems.
- Troubleshooter: Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills, with the ability to identify and resolve technical issues independently.
- Detail-Oriented: Sharp attention to detail and excellent organizational skills, able to manage multiple configurations simultaneously without dropping accuracy.
- Clear Communicator: Effective verbal and written communication skills that support close collaboration with teammates and project managers.
- Self-Starter: Able to take ownership of assigned tasks and work independently while adapting to shifting priorities and deadlines.
- VMS-Familiar: Familiarity with Video Management Systems (VMS) and related software applications is a plus.
- Experienced: Prior experience configuring security or surveillance systems is a plus.
- Qualified: High school diploma or equivalent required; additional technical certifications or training is a plus.
