Purpose

Help us create a better future, quicker!

At SP Energy Networks our focus is on harnessing technology and innovation to create the networks of the future. Our team is building a dynamic network to meet the changing demands for electricity and increasingly, renewable electricity – safely, securely and sustainably in the communities we serve.

At SP Energy Networks, we know people are central to building a better future, quicker and we are seeking new talent to join our team.

Responsibilities
Working closely with the Community Benefits team to deliver the company’s Community Benefits framework, worth over £100m over the next five years, you will act as the engagement lead for eligible communities, helping to build trusted relationships and ensure communities understand how funding can support local priorities.

Being responsible for the development and implementation of robust engagement processes, you will support consistent delivery of Community Benefits Funding across business areas, with a particular focus on stakeholder mapping, proactive engagement, and community consultation activity linked to eligible funding areas.

Managing data and reporting which ensure impact can be measured, you will maintain clear stakeholder records, community engagement plans and funding communication materials, ensuring local authorities, community councils, local MPs/MSPs and other key stakeholders are kept informed of relevant Community Benefit Funding opportunities and activity.

Supporting the development and delivery of public information campaigns which improve recognition, understanding and reputation of the company, you will help plan and support community consultations, ensuring feedback from eligible communities and wider stakeholders is captured, understood and used to inform effective programme delivery.

Managing your own workload to prepare professionally designed presentations and engagement materials within specified branding guidelines, you will also support and lead relevant internal working groups, working with external communications, research and engagement partners to develop plans, monitor delivery and ensure stakeholder activity is coordinated, accessible and aligned to business requirements.

What you’ll bring

Educated to degree level in Marketing, Communications, Community Development, Stakeholder Engagement or a related discipline (or equivalent experience), you will possess proven experience in engagement, communications or community-facing programme delivery, ideally within a regulated industry, with a strong understanding of stakeholder mapping, two-way communications strategies and working with local authorities, community councils and political stakeholders.

With excellent written and verbal communication skills, you will be confident engaging with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders, able to support community consultations, develop clear engagement materials and manage multiple projects while meeting tight deadlines. You will also be proficient in Microsoft Office and digital communication tools.

What’s in it for you

As well as a competitive salary which is reviewed annually, you can also enjoy a number of other benefits. With our pension scheme, we’ll double match your contribution up to a company contribution of 10%.
