Job Summary
The Commodities Services Tech II position is responsible for the day-to-day picking, shipping, and reclamation functions. These duties include, but are not limited to, picking, inventory replenishment, packaging, shipping, material reclamation, waste disposal, housekeeping, and warehouse zone maintenance.
The job activity ensures the accurate picking, packaging, and shipment of required materials to Customer Delivery facilities. The Commodities Services Tech II candidate is also expected to prepare new/used materials for return to the Supply Centers inventory. The successful candidate will be customer-driven to support the supply chain organization and the Customer Delivery customers. The candidate must have the ability to learn new processes and systems within supply chain operations including MAXIMO and eMax. This position will be responsible for maintaining excellent communications with Supply Center employees and other internal customers to ensure the efficient flow of commodities in and out of Operation centers.
Basic/Required Qualifications
At least 2 years of warehouse operations experience or power generation experience
Maintain a valid driver’s license for occasionally use of company vehicles
Ability to successfully complete fork-lift, Environmental , Health & Safety and other supply chain-related training within 90 days, or as directed by supervision
Demonstrated proficiency in computer skills including windows-based applications, i.e., Word, Excel, etc.
Self-motivated and able to work productively with little direct supervision
Experience in interacting with a diverse range of contacts, including managers, non-managers, and external customers. Proven ability to anticipate and respond effectively to customer request, which may include inquiries received in person, via phone and/or in writing
Ability to multi-task and adapt to constantly changing conditions, such as time constraints
Demonstrated excellent organizational, time management and interpersonal skills
Demonstrated ability to prioritize both long-term and short term task on or before due date and from multiple team members, balanced along with day-to-day work assignments
Desired Qualifications
At least two years of experience in Supply Chain or Warehouse environment
Demonstrated analytical skills, along with good verbal and written communication skills
Demonstrated ability to identify problems, consider resolutions and take the necessary steps to solve the problems
Demonstrated ability to multi-task and adapt to frequently changing priorities
Working knowledge of the overall operating fundamentals and principals of generating station systems, equipment and processes
Demonstrated working knowledge of inventory systems and/or work management systems
Working Conditions
Onsite Mobility Classification – Work will be performed at a company facility. On-site employees are also required to live within a reasonable daily commute to their assigned work location, not greater than 50 miles one way.
Works inside warehouse and outside yard environment including all weather conditions and possibly extreme temperatures
Work hours subject to change, based on customer needs
Overtime and emergency call-out requirements
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
Frequent contact with coal dust and fly ash
Frequent walking, bending, kneeling, pulling, climbing ladders, etc.
