BTP Platform Owner

About the Role

The BTP Platform Owner is responsible for defining, establishing, governing, and operating Haleon’s global SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP) capability along with ERP technical capability. Reporting to the Head of Platforms Operation, this leadership role will own the BTP strategy, operating model, platform architecture, governance framework, adoption roadmap, and day-to-day service operations.

The role will build and lead ERP technical BTP platform as a strategic enterprise capability, enabling innovation, integration, extensibility, data, AI, and business process transformation across the SAP estate. The successful candidate will ensure SAP BTP, RISE & ERP on Azure is built and operated as a secure, resilient, compliant, and scalable platform while maximizing business value.

Key Accountabilities

Platform Strategy & Ownership

• Own Haleon's SAP BTP vision, strategy, roadmap, and platform governance.

• Establish BTP as a strategic enterprise platform supporting SAP and non-SAP business capabilities.

• Define platform standards, guardrails, architecture principles, and operating policies.

• Implement ERP technical landscape roadmap and operation.

Practice Leadership

• Build, mature and operate the SAP BTP Center of Excellence (CoE) and operating model.

• Define platform services, support model, service catalogue, and governance processes.

• Lead internal teams, service providers, and strategic partners responsible for platform delivery and operations.

Platform Operations & Reliability

• Ensure operational excellence across ERP platform which includes BTP/RISE/Hyperscaler based landscapes, services, and environments.

• Drive platform availability, security, performance, resiliency, and disaster recovery readiness.

• Establish monitoring, observability, automation, and service management capabilities.

Platform Adoption & Enablement

• Drive enterprise adoption and implementation of BTP services including:

  • Integration Suite

  • SAP Build Zone

  • SAP HANA Cloud

  • Event Mesh

  • Signavio

  • AI and Automation Services

  • Cloud ALM etc.

• Enable product teams and business functions to leverage BTP capabilities effectively (incl. platform capability finance and integration across platforms operation scope.

Security, Risk & Compliance

• Establish secure-by-design principles across the ERP landscape.

• Ensure compliance with SOX, ITGC, cybersecurity, privacy, and regulatory requirements.

• Lead vulnerability management, platform hardening, and audit readiness activities.

Stakeholder Management

• Manage stakeholders across business, IT, SAP, and strategic partners.

• Influence senior technology leaders to drive platform adoption.

• Manage critical escalations and ensure effective governance at Director and VP levels.

Experience & Skills

Required

• 15+ years of SAP/ERP technology leadership experience, with deep expertise in cloud, RISE and Microsoft hyperscaler based platform strategy and operations.

• Proven experience establishing and leading SAP BTP or equivalent cloud platform practices.

• Strong knowledge of SAP architecture, governance, security, and operations.

• Experience with SAP RISE, S/4HANA, Integration Suite, SAP Build Zone, HANA Cloud, Cloud ALM, and SAP extensibility frameworks.

• Possess strong technical architecture, implementation, subject matter expertise across SAP products.

• Experience defining platform operating models, FinOps, service management, and governance frameworks.

• Strong vendor, budget, and stakeholder management experience.

• Demonstrated success leading global teams in large, complex enterprise environments.

• Experience driving large-scale SAP transformation and cloud modernization programs.

• Knowledge of Azure cloud platforms, enterprise integration, data platforms, and AI services.
