We are looking for a detail-oriented API Test Automation Engineer with strong expertise in API Testing, Postman, and Rest Assured to ensure the quality, reliability, and performance of modern applications. As an API Test Automation Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and executing comprehensive API test strategies across functional, regression, and integration testing. Working closely with developers, QA engineers, and product teams, you will validate API functionality, automate test scenarios, identify defects, and contribute to continuous quality improvement throughout the software development lifecycle. This role offers the opportunity to work on scalable automation frameworks, CI/CD pipelines, and modern testing practices while ensuring seamless integration across multiple application layers.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and execute API test cases covering functional, regression, integration, and end-to-end testing scenarios.
• Build, enhance, and maintain API automation frameworks using Rest Assured and Java.
• Perform API validation using Postman, including request/response verification, authentication, environment configuration, and data validation.
• Validate business logic, response structures, error handling, and database mappings across API services.
• Analyze API logs, troubleshoot issues, and collaborate with development teams to resolve defects efficiently.
• Develop comprehensive test cases covering positive, negative, boundary, and edge-case scenarios.
• Integrate automated API test suites with CI/CD pipelines to support continuous testing.
• Participate in requirement analysis and provide quality assurance inputs during feature planning and design discussions.
• Work closely with functional testing teams to ensure complete test coverage across UI and API components.
• Report, track, and validate defects using JIRA while maintaining clear documentation and supporting evidence.
• Perform database validation using SQL and ensure data consistency across integrated systems.
• Continuously improve test automation practices, framework maintainability, and overall testing efficiency.

What Makes You a Great Fit

• Strong hands-on experience in API Testing, Postman, and Rest Assured.
• Proficiency in Java-based automation frameworks and API automation best practices.
• Solid understanding of REST APIs, JSON/XML, HTTP methods, status codes, and API authentication mechanisms such as OAuth, Bearer Token, and Basic Authentication.
• Experience designing and maintaining scalable API automation frameworks.
• Working knowledge of automation tools including Git, Jenkins, and JIRA.
• Basic SQL skills with experience validating backend data and database mappings.
• Strong analytical, debugging, and problem-solving abilities with a focus on delivering high-quality software.
• Familiarity with functional testing, regression testing, and integration testing methodologies.
• Ability to work effectively in Agile or fast-paced development environments while managing multiple priorities.
