The Pinnacle School, a private, special education day school for students in grades 2 through 12, seeks an Administrative Assistant for a full-time, school-based position (12 months).
The Pinnacle School enables students with complex learning profiles and secondary co-occurring needs to thrive through small class sizes, differentiated instruction, active problem-solving and relationship building. The school is accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC) and is a Connecticut state-approved special education school. Our students are both privately and district-placed, and come from Connecticut and New York.
Candidates will be joining a passionate, invested, and collaborative team of highly trained clinicians, life coaches and teachers with expertise in special education, school counseling, speech and language therapy, occupational therapy, and classroom and behavior management.
The Administrative Assistant serves as the welcoming face and organizational hub of The Pinnacle School.
Candidates will be able to work a M-F 7:30am-3:30pm.
Candidates will have possess a Bachelors Degree.
Compensation range is $50,000-$75,000 annually.
As a primary point of contact for students, families, visitors, school districts, outside agencies, vendors, and staff, this position plays an essential role in creating a professional, organized, and welcoming school environment while supporting the efficient day-to-day operation of the school. The Administrative Assistant will perform duties with a high degree of independence, sound judgment, focused initiative and aligned with the mission and values of The Pinnacle School. This position requires someone who is highly organized, able to manage multiple competing priorities, comfortable working in a fast-paced school environment, and committed to providing excellent service.
The successful candidate will meet the following requirements:
● Experience providing administrative support in a special education school environment
● Professional, welcoming demeanor and strong interpersonal skills for working with staff, students, and families
● Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple tasks and responsibilities independently ●
Proficiency with Microsoft, Google Suite, PowerSchool, CT-SEDS, Concur, and other school systems
● Supports the Head of School and Director of Education with scheduling, communication, record-keeping, and special projects
● Coordinates and maintains school-wide calendars, group emails, and PPT scheduling
● Experience with compliance and regulations surrounding special education, including familiarity with IEP processes and documentation
● Manages student and staff records, including attendance, file organization, and compliance documentation
● Liaises with facilities and IT departments for school maintenance, technology needs, and emergency drills ● Oversees purchasing, inventory, and vendor communication; creates and tracks purchase orders and expenses
● Provides front desk coverage and general office support as needed
● Support leadership with state reporting requirements and administrative deadlines.
● Assist in maintaining accurate documentation necessary for state and regulatory compliance.
● Support the organization and maintenance of records related to special education processes and documentation.
● Maintains organized and professional shared spaces, including lobby and common areas
● Demonstrates flexibility, initiative, and a collaborative mindset to support the daily operations of the school.
