Our 2026 - 2027 intern program is now open for applications. 

 

An internship with Endace provides you with the ideal start to your engineering career; you will have a meaningful, challenging, and commercially relevant project to work on, with support from both a mentor and project manager. 

 

Over the course of your 12-week internship you will be exposed to all the operational facets of a high performing high-tech organisation and be paid well while you’re doing it.  It is truly the best kick start to a tech career you could ask for. 

 

We have 4 projects to offer this year all running from November 2026 to February 2027 at our R&D centre in Hamilton.  To be eligible for anyone of our projects you must:

  • Be enrolled in or recently graduated from a New Zealand tertiary education institution studying towards an undergraduate, honours, postgrad diploma/certificate or con-joint undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Software Development or Engineering
  • Have an understanding of basic networking
  • Have the right to live and work in New Zealand and be able to participate in the programme in Hamilton, New Zealand.

2026-2027 Projects

Integrate Minerva with Device42

Hamilton

All our intern projects run from 16 November 2026 to 5 February 2027. 

The Project

 

The Engineering team has an internal system that records available EndaceProbes and allows Endace employees to reserve devices, request and test traffic. This project will integrate our internal device reservation system with Device42 to reduce manual work for managing devices and double handling of information.

 

Candidates suited to this project should:

  • Be enrolled in or recently graduated from a New Zealand tertiary education institution studying towards an undergraduate, honours, postgrad diploma/certificate or con-joint undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Software Development or Engineering
  • Have an understanding of basic networking
  • Have the right to live and work in New Zealand and be able to participate in the programme in Hamilton, New Zealand. 
  • Experience with Python
  • Experience with HTTP and RESTful or REST-like APIs
  • Familiarity developing for Linux based environments
  • Familiarity with Bash and shell scripting
  • Basic skills using Git version control

FPGA Regression Test System in Python

The Project

 

The current instability and functional gaps in TinderSynth are limiting regression coverage and introducing risk into the Card QA process, with downstream impacts on RoboNyx validation. This project will upgrade TinderSynth and create a unified web-interface to stablise the platform, restore full regression capability, and unify all Card QA components into a single interface to improve delivery.

 

Candidates for this project should:

  • Be enrolled in or recently graduated from a New Zealand tertiary education institution studying towards an undergraduate, honours, postgrad diploma/certificate or con-joint undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Software Development or Engineering
  • Have the right to live and work in New Zealand and be able to participate in the programme in Hamilton, New Zealand
  • Have an understanding of basic networking
  • Good knowledge of multiprocessing in Python
  • Basic knowledge in HTML
  • Familiarity with developing in Linux environments
  • Basic knowledge in Bash shell scripting
  • Basic skills in GIT version control.

Automate Pre-Upgrade Check

All our intern projects run from 16 November 2026 to 5 February 2027. 

 

The Project

 

Pre-upgrade checks is a series of checks that the probe runs internally or via a hotfix just before an upgrade is performed. This project will explore options and build automation to cover manual execution of this test.

 

Candidates for this project should:

  • Be enrolled in or recently graduated from a New Zealand tertiary education institution studying towards an undergraduate, honours, postgrad diploma/certificate or con-joint undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Software Development or Engineering
  • Have the right to live and work in New Zealand and be able to participate in the programme in Hamilton, New Zealand. 
  • Have an understanding of basic networking
  • Experience with Linux shell commands
  • Experience with Python
  • Basic skills using Git version control
  • Good command over a frontend tool (e.g. HTML, JavaScript) is desirable
  • Exposure to Robot is desirable but not required

Cloud Packet Capture Performance

The Project

This project aims to improve packet capture performance for Endace virtual appliances in public and private cloud environments by leveraging the Linux Express Data Path feature.  All major Cloud provider and virtualisation drivers have support for XDP (Amazon, Azure, Google, Oracle, VMware, KVM virtio). Usage of this technology can improve performance and lower overhead of capturing real traffic in Cloud and virtualised environments.

 

Candidates for this project should:

  • Be enrolled in or recently graduated from a New Zealand tertiary education institution studying towards an undergraduate, honours, postgrad diploma/certificate or con-joint undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Software Development or Engineering
  • Have an understanding of basic networking
  • Have the right to live and work in New Zealand and be able to participate in the programme in Hamilton, New Zealand. 
  • Familiarity with Linux shell commands
  • Experience with C, Python
  • Familiarity with networking and networking protocols
  • Basic skills using Git version control
  • Familiarity with Cloud or virtualisation environments desirable
