Responsibilities for Yard Worker:

• Organize and maintain yard materials, including concrete ties, equipment, and tools
• Assist with loading and unloading materials from trucks and other vehicles
• Operate forklifts and other machinery to move materials within the yard
• Perform routine yard maintenance such as cleaning, stacking, and organizing items
• Monitor inventory levels and report any shortages or issues to the supervisor
• Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and protocols
• Assist with other general labor tasks as needed
• Can work varied shifts with changing seasons
• Can work in a team in environment
• Secure loads on top of railcars using load binders and chains

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent, preferred
• Previous experience in a yard, warehouse, or manufacturing setting is preferred
• Ability to operate forklifts and other material-handling equipment (certification preferred)
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Basic understanding of safety procedures in a manufacturing environment

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift heavy materials (up to 75 lbs.) repeatedly
• Stamina to stand, walk, and move throughout the yard for extended periods
• Ability to bend, climb, stoop, squat, and reach overhead as needed
• Capable of operating forklifts and other equipment, requiring good hand-eye coordination
• Willingness to work in varied weather conditions
• All employees are required to have steel toe boots and supplied PPE

Environmental Conditions:

• Industrial/manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, machinery, and varying temperatures

• Must be able to work in hot temperatures in the summer and cold temperatures in the winter months.
