POSITION SUMMARY:
Responsible for efficiently receiving, release, and organization of machines and attachments within the equipment yard. Serves as the primary point of contact for customers and haulers entering the facility, ensuring smooth check-in and check-out process with maintaining accurate inventory control.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Perform equipment fueling and inspections upon request.
- Prepare equipment for sales/demo and staging.
- Performs all yard functions including washing equipment and golf carts and installs/removes decals, EIN decals, and/or plates on equipment.
- Responsible for communicating inbound equipment statuses and conditions to achieve prompt sales invoices.
- Anticipates sales order needs such as bucket and work tool sizes and types.
- Receives, unpacks, and stores attachments, installs pins and marks with appropriate ID numbers.
- Keeps yard neat, clean, and organized. First line of communication on all yard traffic policies and adherence to speed limits.
- Assists sales department by communicating to customers all Hawthorne safety practices and requirements.
- Assists customers with needs such as unloading and unhitching equipment.
- Ability to learn how to operate equipment safely throughout the yard as needed.
- Contributes to team effort by communicating actions, accomplishing related results as needed, and maintains a safe work environment.
- Will need to operate and understand CAT Inspect or other types of digital photo or inspection related programs.
- Tools will be shared and provided by the company.
- Other duties as assigned by Supervisor.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
- Must have High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.
- Must have a valid California Class "C" Driver's License with a clean driving record.
- Must be able to be Forklift and Scissor Lift Certified within 30 days of employment.
- Able to demonstrate high proficiency in computer/phone applications.
- Must have a mobile phone that can upload appliable apps and ability to take pictures.
- Excellent communication ability and high level of customer relation skills.
- Ability to multi-task.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Walking: Moves about on foot often up and down stairs.
- Handling: Works with hands.
- Lifting: Raises or lowers parts weighing up to 50lbs. Frequent exertion.
- Reaching: Extends hands and arms in any direction.
- Stooping: Bends body downward and forward by bending at knees or waist.
- Standing: Remains in standing position, if required to perform various functions of the job.
- Vision: Reads paperwork and records on the computer.
- Talking: Communicates via telecommunications and in person.
- Sitting: Sits at desk for minimal amount of time.
- Climbing: Climbs on and off equipment.
ENVIRONMENTAL:
- Noise: Works in conditions with constant or intermittent noise.
- Temp/Weather: Works in both inside and outside all weather environments.
