About the job:

Role Purpose

Oversee risk portfolio monitoring, coordinate ESG risk integration and drive cross-functional risk initiatives across CIB Asia, helping ensure effective risk governance, controls and management reporting.

Key Responsibilities

1. Risk Portfolio Management

• Lead the preparation of periodic risk portfolio reports and executive presentations for senior management and risk committees.
• Monitor portfolio evolution, credit quality, exposures, concentrations and emerging risks across countries, sectors, clients and products.
• Analyze key risk indicators, including EAD, credit limits, ratings, PD, maturity profiles and watchlist exposures.
• Identify material portfolio trends and vulnerabilities, providing actionable insights to support risk decisions.
• Ensure data quality and promote improvements in portfolio analytics, reporting and automation.

2. ESG & Sustainability Risk

• Coordinate the integration of sustainability risk factors into credit admission, client reviews and onboarding processes.
• Ensure consistent application of ESG policies, sector frameworks and BBVA internal assessment tools.
• Oversee ESG portfolio monitoring, including risk appetite indicators, sector alignment, financed emissions (PCAF) and portfolio alignment (PACTA).
• Coordinate with Global ESG Risk teams on due diligence, controversies, data quality and corrective actions.
• Support ESG risk governance, reporting and implementation of Group requirements across CIB Asia.

3. Cross-Functional Risk Management (XFunctions)

• Coordinate cross-functional risk initiatives and specific regional requirements across CIB Asia.
• Ensure effective implementation of Group risk policies, processes and control frameworks.
• Monitor action plans, deliverables and remediation activities, ensuring timely execution and escalation.
• Facilitate collaboration across regional and global Risk teams and other relevant functions.
• Drive process improvements, operational efficiency and stronger risk controls.

Required Profile

• Strong experience in Corporate & Investment Banking risk management, credit portfolio analysis or risk governance.
• Strong understanding of information database structures, data management and the development and implementation of database-driven reporting solutions
• Strong analytical capabilities and understanding of credit risk metrics, ESG frameworks and internal controls
• Proven ability to manage complex initiatives and coordinate multiple stakeholders.
• Excellent communication, executive reporting and organizational skills.
• Proactive, independent and results-oriented, with strong ownership and execution capabilities.
• Fluency in English is required; proficiency in Spanish would be an advantage
