GE Aerospace Terre Haute
The Terre Haute site is comprised of two facilities – component manufacturing and assembly – of complex combustors & structures engineered for commercial and military aircraft engines.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Willingness to maintain a safe and clean work environment.
  • Able to follow all safety and EHS policies and procedures.
  • Follow all GE and regulatory requirements
  • Maintain quality workmanship with attention directed to task at all times.
  • Evaluate quality problems that inhibit the process with an effective solution.
  • Ability to adapt to new methods and / or customer satisfaction.
  • Must display good communication skills, both written and oral with all teams.
  • Experienced with computers.  MES, Basic skills in Microsoft office package (i.e. Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook).
  • Ability to lift 25-30 lbs.
  • Fork truck license or willingness to get fork truck license, including chemical handling license.
  • Qualified to build all TCF Module Assemblies

This role may encounter high risk or hazardous operations and/or include working shifts beyond a standard workweek. As such, a requirement of the role is to be at least 18 years of age by the time of joining.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Main Function- Keep cell/stations supplied with material and information so operators can focus on value added work.
  • Lead problem solving and process improvements.
  • Updating of status and visual metrics.
  • Perform necessary Material Handling functions (including, but not limited to, ordering material, kanban maintenance putting away material, bulk replenishment, cycle counting, take away material and packaging etc)
  • Kit material for production orders and deliver in “ready to build” condition.
  • Responsible for reviewing and tracking shortages.
  • Work closely with multiple functions to resolve issues.
  • Operate machinery as needed (Forklift).
  • Able to learn quickly and adapt to a working environment that changes daily to keep incoming/ outgoing materials moving to meet customer and manufacturing requirements.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.
  • Please note that this is a Weekend Shift: Friday - 1pm to 11pm, Saturday - 11am to 11pm, Sunday - 11am to 11pm

This role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information. Therefore, employment will be contingent upon the ability to prove that you meet the status of a U.S. Person as one of the following: U.S. lawful permanent resident, U.S. Citizen, have been granted asylee or refugee status (i.e., a protected individual under the Immigration and Naturalization Act, 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)).
