The Purpose

Lead OQC’s Client Solutions function in the United States, turning complex customer challenges into scalable, commercially valuable solutions. Build the partnerships and high-performing teams that drive long-term growth, while putting customer insight at the heart of OQC’s global product strategy.

The Role

Reporting to the Chief Product Officer, you’ll be OQC’s most senior representative in the United States. You’ll combine executive relationship-building, solution delivery and organisational leadership, developing strategic customer partnerships and building the Client Solutions and Solutions Architecture capability to deliver on them.

You’ll be based in the US, with regular travel across North America and internationally, including frequent visits to the UK. Flexibility across UK and US time zones is essential for collaboration with global teams.

What You'll Be Working On

• Set strategy. Develop and execute the Client Solutions strategy, aligning customer opportunities with OQC’s commercial objectives, product direction and long-term priorities.
• Build strategic partnerships. Strengthen OQC’s US presence through executive relationships across financial services, security, defence and other priority sectors, representing the company with customers, partners, government organisations and industry bodies.
• Own delivery from opportunity to deployment. Lead qualification, proofs of concept, pilots and commercial deployments, balancing customer outcomes with technical capability, commercial value and delivery risk.
• Build and develop the team. Lead Client Solutions and Solutions Architecture, owning recruitment, headcount planning, coaching, performance and succession while championing collaboration and continuous improvement.
• Turn customer insight into product direction. Partner with the Chief Product Officer, Product Management and Engineering to shape roadmap and investment decisions, turning bespoke solutions into repeatable products, services and capabilities.
• Protect customer-driven innovation. Own intellectual property governance across customer engagements, ensuring valuable innovations are protected and incorporated into OQC’s wider technology and product portfolio.
• Lead investment and execution. Own annual budgets, remuneration planning and strategic programmes, advising the Executive Team and Board on customer engagements, commercial opportunities, organisational performance and investment priorities.

What We're Looking For

• A track record of developing and executing customer-facing technology or solutions strategies within complex B2B technology organisations.
• Experience building and leading high-performing customer solutions, consulting or solutions architecture teams across geographies and functions.
• Success developing strategic relationships with enterprise executives, particularly in financial services, security, defence or other highly regulated industries.
• Evidence of converting complex technical opportunities into commercial engagements, from discovery and proof of concept through deployment.
• Experience translating customer requirements into scalable products or capabilities, and working with executive leadership on strategy, organisational growth and commercial decisions.
• Strong commercial and financial judgement, including budget management, negotiation, risk management and change leadership.
• Clear, credible executive communication and a collaborative leadership style. You can navigate ambiguity, balance customer and technical priorities, and develop others through coaching and constructive feedback.
• An undergraduate degree or equivalent practical experience.

The 'Nice-to-Haves'

• Experience in quantum computing, deep technology, advanced computing or emerging technologies.
• Experience working across UK and US organisations.
• Experience engaging with government agencies, research organisations or strategic technology partnerships.
• Experience managing intellectual property arising from customer engagements.
• A degree in engineering, computer science, physics, business or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience; an MBA or relevant postgraduate qualification.

Salary
The base salary range for this position is $230K - $300K USD per year. This range represents the good-faith base salary OQC reasonably expects to pay for this role at the time of posting. Final compensation may vary based on job-related factors including skills, experience, qualifications, and internal equity. This range refers to base salary only.
