What you’ll do in the role:

Morgan Stanley Services Group Inc. is seeking a Vice President, Software Engineer in New York, New

York to design and develop large-scale, multi-tiered, multi-threaded, distributed software applications, tools,

systems, and services. Develop software services to onboard trading and post-trading workflows for various

asset classes including Equity and Options on distributed system architecture. Design and Implement Order

State Management related components for Trading platforms. Conduct scrums and handle deliverables.

Telecommuting permitted up to 2 days per week.

What you’ll bring to the role:

-Requires a Bachelor’s in Educational Technology, Computer Science, Applied Computer Science, or a

related field of study.

-Requires five (5) years of experience in the position offered or five (5) years as a Assistant Manager

Technology, Technology Lead, Systems Project Manager, Technology Specialist, or related occupation in

the technology field.

-Requires five (5) years of experience with the following skills:

• Java;
• Unix;
• MQ;
• Relational Databases;
• Unit testing;
• Shell Scripting;
• MS SQL Server;
• Spring Framework;
• Hibernate;
• XML; and
• Web Services (RESTful or SOAP).

-Requires four (4) years of experience with the

• Kafka;
• SQL;
• JDBC, data structures, algorithms, and object-oriented design concepts;
• performance testing;
• Git;
• Gradle;
• Radis;
• Distributed messaging;
• Multi-threaded server-side development; and
• Apache Camel.

Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $175,000 and $210,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
