About Us

Established in 1972, Particle Measuring Systems is a global leader for micro-contamination monitoring equipment improving the performance of clean manufactures in the semiconductor and pharmaceutical industries.  We’re a growing technology company in Niwot, Colorado, the heart of the Rocky Mountains.  We offer an exceptional and rewarding work environment in a great place to live.  Our employees enjoy challenging projects in the development and manufacture of light scattering particle counters and diverse technologies and applications.

The Role

The Vice President of IT & Digital will lead global IT and Digital for Particle Measuring Systems, a Spectris company and the world’s leading provider of contamination monitoring solutions for cleanroom and controlled environments. This high-visibility, business-critical role will drive the group-wide ERP implementation, strengthen cybersecurity maturity to meet Spectris and KKR expectations, and build a high-performing global IT function. Digital & AI is also central to the role: the successful candidate will define how PMS applies AI and emerging technologies to grow revenue across products and services and improve organizational efficiency. The ideal candidate is a hands-on, credible leader who quickly builds trust with the new President, executive team, Spectris CIO and KKR advisors, and is equally comfortable setting technology strategy and delivering it.

Job Responsibilities

An employee in this position must be able to successfully perform the essential duties and responsibilities listed below. This list reflects the primary and essential functions of the position and is not exhaustive.

1. IT & Digital Strategy

  • Develop and execute PMS's IT and digital strategy, aligned to Spectris Group direction and KKR value-creation objectives.
  • Own delivery of the new group-wide ERP implementation (Infor), launching Q3 2027 — the strategy's first major proof point.
  • Act as a strategic technology thought partner to the President and executive team.
  • Set and own PMS's AI strategy and governance, identifying and prioritizing the use cases that will grow revenue across products and services and drive efficiency across the organization.

2. IT Operating Model & Systems Integration

  • Lead the ERP roll-out across all global sites, moving from fragmented legacy systems to a scalable platform.
  • Ensure the reliability, scalability and resilience of IT infrastructure across manufacturing, R&D and commercial sites globally.
  • Partner with the Spectris Group IT function on shared standards, systems and integration.
  • Manage key IT vendor, supplier and outsourcing relationships to ensure commercial value and consistently high-quality service delivery.

3. Data, Analytics & Business Intelligence

  • Lead the development and execution of an enterprise data strategy aligned to PMS's business transformation agenda and AI readiness, including close integration with the master data management workstream.
  • Build a data architecture and reporting framework that supports real-time, investor-grade decision-making.
  • Champion financial and non-financial KPI visibility and self-service dashboards for the executive team.
  • Ensure the new ERP delivers the reporting backbone the business needs post-go live.
  • Identify opportunities to apply data and AI to new products, services and business models — for example predictive maintenance and digital or subscription-based offerings — that create new revenue streams.

4. Governance, Risk & Cybersecurity

  • Develop and lead a cybersecurity strategy that raises PMS's posture to the Spectris/KKR group benchmark.
  • Oversee external security assessments and audits and ensure ongoing compliance.
  • Align IT controls with PE investor requirements and audit readiness.

5. M&A Technology Integration

  • Support technology due diligence and integration planning for future group M&A activity.
  • Establish a repeatable framework for onboarding acquired or divested entities into IT standards.

6. Team Leadership & Capability Building

  • Lead, mentor and develop a high-performing global IT team.
  • Professionalise IT delivery and build capability across the function.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability and service excellence.
  • Build and lead a new AI Enablement capability within IT, hiring, directing and developing an AI Enablement Lead responsible for AI use case identification and prioritization, adoption and change management, tool assessment, benefits measurement and reporting, and employee training on AI tools and applications.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or a related field; 10-15+ years of progressively responsible IT leadership experience.
  • Proven experience leading a full-cycle enterprise ERP implementation (e.g., Infor, SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics) from planning through go-live.
  • Demonstrated experience building or maturing a cybersecurity program, including managing external assessments and audits against a rigorous benchmark.
  • Track record leading IT across multiple global sites within a manufacturing, industrial or instrumentation business.
  • Proven experience managing and developing high-performing IT teams.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical topics for non-technical, executive-level stakeholders.

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience operating inside a PE-owned or recently acquired business.
  • Background in precision instrumentation, life sciences, semiconductor or industrial technology sectors.
  • Experience integrating IT following M&A or carve-out activity.
  • Experience partnering with a group/parent company IT function within a multi-business or decentralised group.
  • Hands-on experience with Infor, the ERP platform PMS is currently deploying, is highly desirable though not essential.
  • Experience developing and executing an enterprise data strategy that enables business transformation, AI readiness and master data management sustainability.
  • Experience building or scaling an enterprise Digital and AI strategy, including use case identification, governance, adoption and change management.

PERSONAL STYLE & VALUES

  • Shifts IT from a cost-and-process focus to a customer-experience-first, strategic-enabler mindset.
