We are seeking to appoint a Veterinary Specialist in Equine Surgery to join a team of outstanding world-class clinical colleagues at the University Veterinary Teaching Hospital Camden.

Your key responsibilities will be to

• maintain reputation for academic excellence
• provide high-quality specialist equine surgical services for clients of the UVTHC during business hours
• develop and support an expanding client base and equine caseload for the hospital
• participate in the provision of education to DVM students and continuing veterinary education activities provided by the unit
• coordinate the daily activities of the equine unit and provide additional support as required contribute to the continuous improvement of clinical standards and practice
• provide support to the Camden Equine Hospital after-hours service on a rotating basis actively participate in meetings, planning and development activities within the UVTHC, as required by the Hospital Director and Hospital Manager.

About you

Veterinary Specialist in Equine Surgery (HEO level 9) who is a veterinarian with at least partial responsibility for the management of a unit or division, including the management of a range of staff working within the relevant discipline or sub-discipline, who has:

·       a degree in veterinary science registrable in New South Wales, Australia

·       a Diplomate or Fellowship permitting registration with the NSW Veterinary Scientists Board as a Specialist in Equine / Large Animal Surgery.

The commencement level will be determined based on the candidate’s skills, experience and knowledge.

The 15% veterinary clinical specialist loading is available once registered as specialist by NSW Veterinary Practitioners Board.
