We’re seeking a Value Stream Manager to join Moog’s growing Space Propulsion Systems Business Unit within our Space & Defense Group. This newly established position supports a rapidly expanding business and offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact as we continue to grow. Reporting to the Operations Director, this onsite role may be based in East Aurora, NY or Niagara Falls, NY, with occasional travel between the two locations.
To be considered for the Value Stream Manager role, here’s what you’ll typically need to bring with you:
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical or business discipline
- Minimum 7 years of experience in a position with exhibited leadership in a functional area
- Must have the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance
- Ability to explain organizational objectives to others
- Successfully led major projects
- Demonstrated experience building the confidence of others and backstop their decisions
- Demonstrated experience with lean production, process improvement tools, Kaizen, LMS, etc.
- Ability to effectively negotiate and clarify top-level Value Stream Objectives
- Experience developing robust plans with contingency considerations
- Ability to formulate and present effective feedback to team members
As a Value Stream Manager, you will:
- Possess broad responsibility and leadership for overall operation of a Value Stream Improvement Plan (VSIP) including business planning, process design and development, product build and delivery, and product service. Be a change agent and drive out waste through the entire value stream.
- Create a culture of continuous improvement, team problem solving and a learning organization by meeting with supervisors and leaders reflecting on the health of the people, process, problems, solutions and challenges.
- Be responsible to maintain and increase all aspects of SQDC performance and visual management system of the value stream.
- Be highly visible to employees, provide coaching, information, ideas, feedback and encouragement to team leaders, associates and the site to promote growth and development of the value stream team.
- Work with process owners, implement standard work and provide feedback to improve the internal processes to support the needs of the value stream.
- Work with resource managers to identify technical skills required for the work force and develop people to acquire and retain these skills.
- Provide regular performance feedback to core team members and their direct supervisors. This information shall be used by supervisors as part of the employee’s performance management.
- Responsible for positively influencing the value stream P&L with direct responsibility for value stream KPI performance.

Salary Range Transparency:
Buffalo, NY $125,000.00–$175,000.00 AnnuallySalary Range Disclaimer
The base salary range represents the low and high end of the Moog salary range for this position in the given work location. Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range(s) listed is just one component of Moog's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, employee stock purchase plan, an open paid time off policy, and many region-specific benefits.
