Responsibilities

Valet Supervisor

  • Wage $16/hr

JOB SUMMARY
The valet supervisor, in collaboration with the transport operations manager, director, and/or assistant director, is responsible for supervising valet services and managing high standards of efficiency, safety, and satisfaction. Additional duties may be required in addition to what is listed below as needed to meet customer needs. Valet supervisors should do what they can to help grow their team.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent is preferred.
  • Supervise valet operations and valet staffing.
  • Previous work experience in a hospitality or hospital setting is preferred.
  • Hold a valid driver’s license.
  • Be able to meet HHS policy/training requirements for approved/authorized vehicle operators.
  • Be able to operate automatic transmission vehicles.

PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVES

  • Improve first impressions and throughput efficiency in the hospital environment.
  • Improve the patient-care focus from the moment of arrival to departure.
  • Improve patient/customer experience by displaying empathy for their conditions and needs.
  • Reduce wait and response time to receive a vehicle for departure.
  • Increase patient and staff satisfaction.
  • Enhance patient and staff safety.

DUTIES

  • Fill in for any staffing call-ins to perform the following tasks:Approach all vehicles upon arrival.Greet each customer warmly, assess their needs, and provide your name.Park and retrieve customer vehicles, observing all traffic laws, within established guidelines and time frames.Record and maintain an accurate log of all vehicles parked.Legibly document pertinent information/infractions observed/noted prior to parking vehicles.Address customers in a pleasant, helpful, respectful manner.Provide directions, and assist customers with entering and leaving the vehicle.Conduct escorts, as required.Secure customer vehicles after parking or returning to customers.Secure customer keys in the designated locking device.Assist guests with transporting luggage and/or personal items as needed.Monitor vehicles parked in the valet parking area to deter vandalism.Maintain valet work station/area and entrance in neat and orderly manner (e.g. pick up trash and debris, empty containers, etc.).Please note: there is possible exposure to blood and body fluids, sharp instruments, and heavy equipment noises. While performing the duties of this job, the individual is regularly exposed to working near moving machinery parts and to outdoor weather conditions.
  • Use HHS technology to document and track performance indicators, valet audits and operations goals.
  • Conduct and record valet performance indicators and audits.
  • Supervise valet operations and staffing in order to assure safe, efficient working operations.
  • Serve as the first point of contact for customers, team members, and hospital staff for daily valet needs/questions.
  • Assist manager/director with any accident investigations/incidents.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Must be able to cope well under emergency and/or stressful conditions.
  • Must be physically able to lift, carry, bend, and support heavy weight over 50 pounds by pushing and pulling.
  • Must walk at a moderate pace continually when walking.
  • Must be in physical condition and be able to lift up to 50 lbs. repeatedly throughout the day.
  • Must be able to read, write, and verbally communicate effectively in English or the primary language spoken by the majority of customers and staff at the facility.
  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time, be able to walk and/or run short and long distances, be able to function for extended periods of time in all environmental conditions, and possess the manual dexterity to safely operate a motor vehicle.
  • Electronics skills, including the ability to use computers and hand-held devices, are required.
  • Close mental and visual attention is required due to variable patient conditions.
  • Must demonstrate the ability to understand and carry out instructions.
  • Must be dependable and motivated to complete duties without constant supervision.
  • Must possess the ability to interact appropriately with a diverse population of customers.
