A) Job Responsibilities:

Underwriting technical and Innovative Underwriting Practices

• Underwrite new proposals/existing policies within approved authority

• Participate in and support projects to implement and apply advanced underwriting techniques that leverage emerging technologies (e.g., artificial intelligence, machine learning) to improve accuracy and speed in decision-making.

• Stay updated on industry trends and advancements, and contribute ideas or recommendations to support improvements in the underwriting process.

• Support the development and update of underwriting guidelines based on changes in UW technical standards, rules, and processes.

Data Analytics and Risk Assessment

• Support relevant stakeholders in analyzing underwriting data to identify trends, risk patterns, quality issues, and automation opportunities.

• Prepare regular and ad‑hoc underwriting reports, dashboards, and management insights (e.g. decision mix, STP rate, TAT, rework rate, key risk indicators).

• Conduct post‑implementation reviews through data‑driven assessment of underwriting initiatives and process changes

Underwriting Projects, Automation, New Capabilities,  Process Optimization

• Support coordination of underwriting transformation initiatives, including AI-driven underwriting, automation, digital onboarding, STP enhancement, rule optimization, and customer experience improvement. Support business requirement preparation, stakeholder coordination, implementation follow-up, and benefit tracking.

• Act as an underwriting SME contributor for assigned business initiatives, providing underwriting input, technical consultation, and operational considerations to support solution design and stakeholder discussions.

• Identify inefficiencies within the underwriting workflow and recommend continuous improvement opportunities through process automation and digital solutions.

Perform other tasks assigned by manager

B) Job Accountability:

• Accurate and consistent underwriting decisions within delegated authority.

• Support the delivery and tracking of assigned underwriting transformation initiatives, automation enhancements, and process improvement activities.

• Contribute to the enhancement of underwriting frameworks, guidelines, automation rules, and customer journeys to support better risk outcomes and operational efficiency.

• Provide underwriting input and technical consultation to support business discussions through data analysis, technical expertise, and stakeholder coordination.

• 5. Monitoring emerging underwriting risks, underwriting performance, and recommending mitigating and performance improvement actions where appropriate.

C) Job Requirements:

• Qualifications: Medical doctor /Pharmacist/Relevant University Degree

• Knowledge and skill

- Strong medical and underwriting knowledge

- Analytical and problem‑solving skills

- Data analysis and reporting capability (Excel, dashboards, basic data tools)/

- Process improvement and digital mindset

- Customer‑centric thinking

- Basic IT skills (understanding of underwriting systems, digital tools, and automation solutions)
