About this Utility Worker role at Via

As a Utility Worker at Via, you will play a key role in maintaining the safety, efficiency, and functionality of our fully electric vehicle fleet. This is a hands-on role ideal for someone who takes pride in keeping operations running smoothly through a wide range on the ground tasks.
- Daytime Utility Worker is primarily responsible for intraday vehicle charging, moving vehicles to support daytime operational needs, and other tasks to keep our fleet in top shape.
- Shifts are estimated to be between 11am to 8pm.
- Overnight Utility Worker is primarily responsible for overnight charging operations, coordinating vehicle cleaning, and ensuring the fleet is ready for morning service.
- Shifts are estimated to be between the hours of 8pm to 5am.
What You'll Do:
- Monitor vehicle charge levels and maneuver vehicles to chargers as needed
- Support overall fleet health by coordinating repairs and preventative maintenance; shuttling vehicles to/from vendors; inspecting vehicles for cleanliness, readiness and visual appearance and track out-of-service vehicles to optimize fleet supply
- Perform smaller maintenance tasks (e.g., tire swaps, light repairs)
- Support the operations team with miscellaneous on-the-ground responsibilities, including maintaining and/or adjusting vehicle equipment and trade dress equipment, organizing workspaces, and assisting with local market initiatives
Who You Are:
- You take initiative, solve problems on the fly, and love getting the job done
- A dynamic team player who is willing to wear multiple hats and tackle projects of all types
- Detail-oriented enough to keep track of vehicle schedules, yet hands-on enough to jump into a repair
- Comfortable driving and maneuvering minivans and larger cutaway-sized vehicles
- Practical knowledge of basic vehicle mechanics and diagnostics is preferred (not mandatory)
- Must be at least 21 years old with a valid driver’s license
- Successful completion of a drug test, criminal background check, and motor vehicle records check is mandatory. This includes a clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) with no felonies, no DUI/DWI or reckless driving convictions, and no more than 2 speeding tickets
Compensation and Benefits
- Compensation: $18-$20 per hour
