What You’ll Accomplish With Us

As an Advanced Case Pricing Consultant, you will be at the center of our mission. Your key responsibilities will include:

• Assess risks related to life insurance, critical illness, and disability insurance, while providing advanced financial underwriting expertise.
• Deliver high-quality underwriting assessments with a service turnaround time of less than 24 hours.
• Negotiate with reinsurers and the sales force.
• Provide consulting, support, and coaching services as a subject matter expert in financial analysis within underwriting teams.
• Share your knowledge across various departments, including monitoring and quality control activities involving agents and MGAs.
• Work closely with the Financial and Tax Solutions team to provide comprehensive service, including preliminary analysis of large-case underwriting files to generate new business, and serve as a resource for all Mid-Market underwriting-related questions.
• Deliver presentations and training sessions on Mid-Market underwriting to MGAs and advisors regarding iA’s underwriting philosophy, new guidelines, and clarification of existing rules.

What Could Help You Succeed in This Role

We are looking for someone who has:

• A university degree (Bachelor’s) and/or 10 years of relevant underwriting experience, including a minimum of 5 years as an underwriter in the Mid-Market segment.
• ALU designation (an asset).
• FLMI designation (an asset).
• Advanced proficiency in English, as the incumbent will be required to communicate daily with English-speaking clients and business partners across Canada through emails and phone calls.
• Strong financial analysis skills.
• The ability to explain and discuss complex concepts using professional expertise.
• Excellent negotiation skills.
• A strong client- and advisor-focused mindset with a commitment to continuous improvement.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Strong planning, organizational, and multitasking abilities.

The typical hiring range for this position is between X80 276$ and 115 371$ CAD; base salary may vary depending on knowledge, skills, years of experience, and internal equity.
