We are currently seeking Experienced Underground Nippers to support our underground mining operations across our Westgold sites.
About the Role
As an Underground Nipper, you will play a critical role in supporting underground production activities and ensuring safe and efficient mining operations. Working closely with underground crews, you will assist with the delivery of materials, installation of services, and general mine support activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver and collect underground equipment, tools, piping, and other operational materials
- Assist with the installation and maintenance of underground services and infrastructure
- Remove waste materials from underground work areas and transport them to designated disposal locations
- Provide support to Jumbo Operators and assist with ground support activities
- Assist underground operators and crews with daily mining activities as required
- Maintain a high standard of housekeeping and ensure equipment and work areas remain clean and organised
- Complete assigned tasks safely, efficiently, and in accordance with operational requirements
- Comply with all Westgold safety standards, procedures, and work practices
About You
To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate a strong commitment to safety, teamwork, and operational excellence.
Essential Requirements
- Current WA "C" Class Driver's Licence
- Previous experience working in an underground mining environment
- Prior experience as an Underground Nipper
- Sound understanding of underground mining operations and associated hazards
- Knowledge of relevant Work Health and Safety legislation and regulations
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt in a dynamic environment
- Effective communication and teamwork skills
- Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and willingness to contribute to team success
