Get to know the Role:


The Treasury Business Middle Office is the support function for GX Bank’s Treasury division.

1. Counterparty Onboarding & Credit Risk Analysis

  • Drive end-to-end counterparty onboarding and periodic reviews across bank, non-bank financial institutions (NBFIs), and corporate counterparties for trading MM, Bonds, FX, and IRS.
  • Manage counterparty annual credit/KYC review lifecycles to ensure continuous trading capabilities.

2. Desk Support & Operational Enablement

  • Support Front Office and Back Office in resolving daily workflow bottlenecks/operational challenges.
  • Act as the primary operational coordinator for internal/external audits and Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM) queries; collate input and responses across Front Office and Back Office, and liaise closely with Compliance to ensure timely submission.

3. Infrastructure, Projects & Vendor Management

  • Support technology initiatives within Front Office and Back Office (e.g., Treasury Management System (TMS) upgrades, trade workflow automation, regulatory reporting builds).
  • Work with Front Office, project managers, and developers on the design and development of new operational workflows, risk capabilities, and digital infrastructure.
  • Support RENTAS developments initiated by Bank Negara Malaysia.
  • Support the complete lifecycle of external vendor relationships end-to-end by coordinating timely contract renewals with security and risk assessments, overseeing internal Service Level Agreements (SLA), monitoring payments, and resolving questionnaire enquiries with vendors/internal teams.

4. Governance, Control & Committee Management

  • Support the end-to-end submission of strategic monthly and ad-hoc executive presentations, including financial, operational, and performance data into actionable insights for the Board and senior leadership.

5. Business Enablement & Scalable Growth (optional)

  • Support sustainable business growth strategy by developing new operational approaches, automation tools, and streamlined analytics.

Requirements:


  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or a related discipline 
  • Experience: 2-3 years of experience in Treasury Business Management (BMU), Treasury Operations, or Middle Office within a commercial/digital financial institution.
  • Credit Risk Analysis: Experience in credit analysis, with the ability to evaluate financial statements, assess counterparty credit risk, and support annual credit review lifecycles across financial institutions and corporate entities. 
  • Product Knowledge: Solid understanding of the trade lifecycle and operational requirements for Money Market, Fixed Income, FX, and IRS.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (e.g., V/XLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, data reconciliation) and PowerPoint (ability to translate operational data into executive presentations). Proficiency in Word for documentation control.
  • Digital Literacy: Able to apply generative AI tools (e.g., Gemini and Microsoft Copilot) and workflow automation techniques to enhance daily analytical workflows and streamline recurring reporting, documentation, and operational processes. Basic familiarity with programming languages (e.g., Python, SQL, VBA) is a strong plus.
  • Soft Skills: Proactive problem-solver with strong cross-functional stakeholder management skills. Ability to bridge Front Office needs with back-end solutions, take independent ownership of unassigned/new challenges/tasks, and operate effectively in an expanding operational landscape.
