Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Ultrasound Technician to join our dynamic team. This is a highly mobile, traveling position responsible for providing diagnostic imaging and cardiovascular testing services across skilled nursing and long-term care facilities. The Ultrasound Technician must be comfortable with extensive travel, including assignments throughout Georgia, Pennsylvania, Upstate New York, and other designated regions. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience performing EKGs, 2D Echocardiograms, vascular Doppler studies, and diagnostic ultrasound procedures. This individual will play an important role in delivering high-quality diagnostic services while ensuring resident comfort, safety, and professionalism.

Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic ultrasound procedures, including abdominal, pelvic, obstetric, and vascular imaging.

• Perform 2D Echocardiograms (Echos) to obtain diagnostic cardiac images.

• Perform vascular Doppler studies, including venous, arterial, and carotid examinations.

• Perform EKGs/Electrocardiograms accurately and efficiently.

• Operate ultrasound, EKG, and related diagnostic equipment to capture high-quality diagnostic images and readings.

• Prepare and properly position residents for ultrasound, Echo, Doppler, and EKG examinations.

• Explain procedures to residents to promote understanding, cooperation, and comfort.

• Review ultrasound and cardiovascular images for image quality and completeness.

• Provide preliminary findings and diagnostic information to physicians and appropriate clinical personnel in a timely manner.

• Maintain accurate patient records, imaging documentation, and reports in accordance with applicable healthcare regulations and organizational standards.

• Follow all safety protocols, infection-control procedures, and equipment-cleaning requirements.

• Travel extensively to skilled nursing and long-term care facilities throughout Georgia, Pennsylvania, Upstate New York, and other assigned territories.

• Utilize personal or company-provided transportation as required.

• Communicate professionally and effectively with residents, physicians, nursing staff, facility leadership, and administrative personnel.

• Manage scheduling and travel efficiently while meeting assigned facility and patient-service requirements.

• Maintain diagnostic equipment and promptly report any equipment concerns or maintenance needs.

• Stay current with developments in ultrasound, cardiovascular imaging, EKG technology, and industry best practices through ongoing education and training.

Requirements

• Certification in at least one of the following:

  • ARDMS – American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography

  • CCI – Cardiovascular Credentialing International

  • RVT – Registered Vascular Technologist/Technician

• Valid Driver’s License required.

• Reliable personal transportation and access to a vehicle required.

• Proven professional experience working as an Ultrasound Technician or Diagnostic Medical Sonographer.

• Required hands-on experience performing EKGs.

• Required experience performing 2D Echocardiograms.

• Required experience performing vascular Doppler studies, including venous, arterial, and carotid studies.

• Strong knowledge of diagnostic ultrasound procedures, techniques, equipment, and image-quality standards.

• Ability to work independently in multiple healthcare facilities.

• Strong organizational and time-management skills.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• High attention to detail and commitment to accurate diagnostic testing.

• Commitment to providing compassionate, high-quality care to residents in skilled nursing and long-term care settings.

• Flexibility to accommodate varying schedules, facility needs, and travel assignments.

• Ability and willingness to travel extensively to Georgia, Pennsylvania, Upstate New York, and other assigned locations.

• 100% travel commitment required.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand and/or sit for prolonged periods.

• Ability to assist with patient positioning.

• Ability to operate ultrasound, EKG, and other diagnostic equipment.

• Ability to lift up to approximately 20 pounds as needed.

• Ability to assist with lifting and/or moving patients when appropriate.

• Ability to transport diagnostic equipment between facilities and assigned locations.
