We are seeking a Transcript Analyst who will be responsible for processing graduate and professional school offers of admission which includes evaluating academic credentials for authenticity and equivalency, and English proficiency levels for admission eligibility, answering admissions-related inquiries from prospective students, parents, and the academic departments, monitoring daily reports, and assisting with other graduate and professional-related processing duties. Our ideal candidate is an individual who works well independently, is detail-oriented, possesses strong organization, time management, and written communication skills, and enjoys being part of a team in a challenging deadline-driven environment. What you need to know

Salary: $15.85/Hourly

Cover Letter & Resume: A cover letter and resume are strongly recommended.

Position Details: Must be able to work extended hours during peak processing season.

Required Education and Experience

  • Associates degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Two years of experience in admissions, document evaluation, bookkeeping or a related field

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities  

  • Must have good interpersonal and organizational skills and be able to follow and give verbal and written instructions.

  • Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheets, database, presentation applications and remote hosted meeting applications.

  • Ability to organize work effectively.

  • Ability to prioritize objectives with a high level of discretion and independent judgement and initiative.

  • Planning and organizational skills with attention to detail.

  • Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Bachelor’s degree.

  • More than a year of professional experience in an office administration role.

  • Six months of experience in college admissions, records, or departmental advising office.

  • Professional experience within TAMUS.

  • Customer service experience.

  • Experience working in Admissions or Financial Aid within an institution of higher education.

  • Excellent customer service skills.

  • Working knowledge of the college credit system.

  • Familiarity with related student information systems such as Banner, AIS, Howdy, MOSES and/or SLATE.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft office programs including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.

  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.

  • Ability to work with sensitive information and maintain confidentiality.

Responsibilities  

Processing

  • Examine, evaluate, and enter student academic records to determine admissions eligibility using the Document Imaging Workflow System and the student information system.

  • Performs in depth analysis of specific application types for review by academic colleges, and/or departments.

  • Examines, evaluates, and may compute grade point averages.

Customer Service

  • Provides administrative support.

  • Answers general office emails and assists with walk-in traffic and telephone inquiries from departments and prospective students regarding a variety of admissions-related issues.

Administrative

  • Acts as a liaison for representatives from educational institutions as well as TAMU academic advisors/departments regarding Admissions related issues.

  • Prepares admissions-related documents and assists academic colleges with review of admissions applications.

Special Projects

  • Handles special projects as assigned by a supervisor.
