Summary

You will work as part of a busy and dynamic sales trading desk, offering our sustainable feed solutions to farm customers across the UK. We are looking for an enthusiastic, customer-focused individual who enjoys building relationships, communicating with people and delivering excellent service in a fast-paced environment.

The successful candidate will bring a positive, proactive attitude and a genuine enthusiasm for helping customers, working collaboratively with colleagues and identifying opportunities to grow the business. You will play a key role in ensuring customers are kept informed of the latest pricing, availability and market developments while delivering an outstanding customer experience.

You will have trading responsibilities for products on a national basis, monitoring agreed trading positions and volume levels, and providing accurate commercial and market information to Total Feed Specialists, Field Based Account Managers, Merchants and direct farm customers.

Your responsibilities

  • Ensure efficient clearance of products from points of supply while maintaining strong relationships with suppliers and key personnel across both third-party and ForFarmers sites.
  • Deliver sales volumes and margin targets for co-products.
  • Follow up sales leads generated through the sales team and proactively identify and pursue new opportunities.
  • Identify new business opportunities and work collaboratively with Product Managers to develop plans to capture them.
  • Maintain accurate and timely records of all customer interactions within C4C, ensuring customer information is up to date and accessible.
  • Use C4C as the central platform for managing customer relationships and sharing relevant information.
  • Build positive relationships with customers, suppliers and internal colleagues, acting as a trusted and responsive point of contact.
  • Contribute positively to team performance through a collaborative, can-do approach and willingness to support colleagues when needed.

Your profile

Essential:

  • Completed higher-level vocational education (BTEC Level 3 National Extended Diploma or equivalent).
  • Significant experience working within a telephone sales or customer-focused commercial environment.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Positive, enthusiastic and resilient approach with a genuine passion for delivering great customer service.
  • Highly motivated with a strong commercial awareness and desire to achieve results.
  • Proven sales and closing skills.
  • Ability to build rapport quickly and develop long-term customer relationships over the telephone.
  • Proactive and customer-centric mindset with a willingness to take ownership and find solutions.
  • Ability to motivate and work effectively with internal sales teams, suppliers and logistics partners.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and adapting positively to changing priorities.
  • Computer literacy and experience of CRM systems.
