ChristianaCare is seeking a dedicated Textile Service Assistant II to help maintain a sanitary and healing space for our patients, visitors, and caregivers.

Position: Textile Service Assistant II

Location: Christiana Hospital - Newark Campus

Type: Full Time

Schedule: 7am - 3:30pm Monday through Friday (8 Hr. Shifts) Every Other Weekend & Holiday - 4am - 12:30pm Shift

What You’ll Do:

• Operate laundry equipment and process linens according to safety, sanitation, and infection control standards.

• Clean and maintain patient and non-patient areas, ensuring a safe and sanitary environment.

• Remove and transport waste and soiled linens following established procedures.

• Train and support team members on equipment use, chemical handling, and safety practices.

• Assist with daily Housekeeping and Laundry operations, staff oversight, regulatory compliance, and maintenance reporting.

• Demonstrate professionalism, teamwork, and compassionate customer service at all times.

What You Bring:

• High School Graduate or equivalent preferred

• Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively

• Strong hygiene and confidentiality practices

• Physical ability to stand, walk, and lift throughout your shift

• Comfort using smartphones/PDA for assignments

Additional Info:

• Ability to perform frequent standing, walking, bending, lifting, pushing, pulling, reaching, and other physical tasks.

• Work in environments with exposure to soiled linens, cleaning chemicals, laundry equipment, and varying temperatures while following all safety and infection control procedures.

This position has a starting rate of $18.23 per hour, regardless of prior experience. After six months of continuous employment, the hourly rate will automatically increase to $21.32 per hour. After one year of continuous employment, the hourly rate will automatically increase to $22.34 per hour.

This pay rate/range represents ChristianaCare’s good faith and reasonable estimate of compensation at the time of posting. The actual salary within this range offered to a successful candidate will depend on individual factors including without limitation skills, relevant experience, and qualifications as they relate to specific job requirements.
