Assists in the safe handling and transportation of vendor calibration equipment between the laboratory and warehouse.

This role is part of Alcon's Engineering function, a team focused on improving quality, processes, products, packaging and materials across our business to help deliver brilliant outcomes. The Technician III, Instrumentation & Calibration Technical Support (Science/Tech/Engineering Path), is primarily responsible to perform routine internal calibration activities for Measurement & Test Equipment (MTE) in the manufacturing facility. You will be expected to apply technical skills and problem-solving abilities while adhering to procedures.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine internal calibration activities for Measurement & Test Equipment (MTE) in the manufacturing facility.
  • Inspect, test, and verify the performance of instruments such as pressure gauges, temperature sensors, transmitters, flow meters, and laboratory measuring devices.
  • Assist in diagnosing equipment issues and executing corrective actions under the guidance of senior technicians or engineers.
  • Maintain control and measurement instruments associated with manufacturing and utility equipment.
  • Record calibration, maintenance, and testing results accurately in accordance with established procedures and documentation requirements.
  • Support equipment qualification, validation, and continuous improvement activities as assigned.
  • Follow safety requirements and report abnormal equipment conditions to appropriate personnel.
  • Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to ensure equipment reliability and compliance with operational requirements.
  • Perform assigned technical tasks in accordance with approved procedures, work instructions, and quality standards.
  • Assist in safe transportation, handling and storage of vendor calibration equipment between calibration laboratory and warehouse.
  • Assist in creating and tracking Purchase Requisitions (PR) in SAP for calibration related services and materials when required.  

Qualifications:

•    At least 1-3 Years of Experience in Calibration
•    Good English proficiency, both written and spoken, as all SOPs are written in English.
•    Open for Diploma in Engineering physics, Physics, or Instrumentation. 
•    Knowledge in IBM Maximo Cmms maximo, ProCal, and calibration system are preferred.
•    Familiarity with SAP system and experience in the Purchase Requisition (PR) process would be an advantage.
