Job Summary

The Central Station Technician assists and orchestrates the delivery of a safe and secure environment for guest, employees, and patients by running the Grady Health System Public Safety Central Station. Monitors closed circuit television systems with 700 plus cameras, 500 plus alarm circuits used as panic or duress buttons by Grady staff, digital video and network video, the HUGS infant and children protection systems, burglar alarms for clinic and pharmacy areas and 68 elevator talk boxes or emergency phones. Personally receives emergency telephone calls from patients, guests, and staff. Maintains radio daily logs as well as other required Central Station logs and records. Dispatches calls to over 80+ Security Officers, as well as security management staff, while monitoring and controlling radio traffic, answering the phone, and responding to alarms. Central Station is the nerve center for the Public Safety Department of the Grady Health System.
