The Opportunity:
As a Technical Support Engineer, you will help maintain and execute a network of simulators and modeling capabilities focused on providing rehearsal and exercise capabilities for various units. These simulators are in different locations throughout the country, and we are the client's engineering team responsible for managing the network, maintaining an Authority to Operate (ATO), improving system design and architecture, Tier 1-3 troubleshooting during operations, hardware installs, lifecycle management, software releases and deployment, new features, and innovation.

You will be the first line of technical support for our nation's most elite warfighters, working within a technically versatile team of engineers, technicians, and operational experts. During training events, you'll provide Tier 1-2 troubleshooting across hardware, software, and network issues on local air and ground simulation systems and multiple outstation systems. That means diagnosing problems quickly, restoring systems to keep training on track, and escalating complex issues to the software and systems engineering teams with clear documentation. You'll perform day-to-day operational checks and preventative maintenance to catch problems before they affect training, support operations in a live, virtual, and constructive (LVC) environment, and track recurring deficiencies so the team can fix root causes. You'll also help keep geographically separated systems updated and compliant with current training requirements, and you'll build and install new simulators and networks.

This job requires an effective troubleshooter who stays calm under pressure, is flexible with day-to-day tasks, and can provide onsite support during operations. You will have a lot of growth opportunities within the program and areas for innovation on simulation systems.

You Have:

• Experience working on complex networked distributed systems
• Experience supporting and collaborating with DoD operational personnel
• Ability to create technical documentation
• Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues with basic network and operating systems
• Ability to travel up to 25% of the time
• TS/SCI clearance
• HS diploma or GED
• Security+ Certification

Nice If You Have: 

• Experience supporting distributed mission operations training
• Experience with programming or scripting languages
• Knowledge of Image Generator VRSG and Constructive Force Generator (CGF) programs such as MACE
