For over 25 years, we’ve partnered with manufacturers across North America, from automotive to energy to advanced industries -providing intelligent automation systems built on precision, reliability, and innovation.

About the Role

TrueLight is bringing to market a breakthrough AI-powered inspection platform that gives manufacturers automated, high-precision quality inspection at production speed, launching with 3D-AI Weld Inspection.

This Technical Sales Engineer owns the go-to-market for TrueLight’s AI inspection platform, starting with 3D-AI Weld Inspection and expanding to additional inspection applications and products as they come to market.

The role sells through two channels: direct deals where TrueLight integrates the AI inspection solution into a customer’s production line, and technology/product sales to other systems integrators and manufacturers who will integrate it themselves. Success means building a real pipeline in both channels — you’re not just selling a service, you’re selling a product that other technical buyers need to say yes to on its own merits.

The ideal candidate is a self-directed, technically credible seller who can speak fluently to quality, manufacturing, and automation engineers, understands the difference between selling an integrated solution and selling a product to a peer integrator, and is energized by owning the commercial strategy for a new product from the ground up.

Location: London, ON
Employment Type: Full Time
Department: TrueLight
Salary: $90,000 - $110,000

RESPONSIBILITIES

Inspection Platform Sales

  • Identify, research, and engage prospective customers for TrueLight’s AI inspection platform, leading with 3D-AI Weld Inspection and prioritizing Tier 1 automotive and industrial manufacturing accounts.
  • Build and manage a two-track pipeline:
    • end customers who want TrueLight to integrate the solution, and
    • systems integrators and OEMs who want to buy or license the technology to integrate themselves.
  • Develop and execute outreach and channel-partner strategies specific to AI quality inspection, including identifying and cultivating integrator/OEM partnerships as a distinct sales motion.
  • Conduct technical presentations and live product demonstrations for engineering, quality, and operations stakeholders.
  • Qualify leads, manage the sales cycle, and close deals across both channels.
  • Represent TrueLight’s AI-enabled inspection solutions at relevant trade shows and industry events.

Product & Market Development

  • Serve as the voice of the market back into TrueLight - feeding customer and competitive intelligence to product and engineering to sharpen the roadmap for the inspection platform and future inspection products.
  • Develop pricing, packaging, and proposal templates appropriate to product sales (as distinct from project-based integration quoting).
  • Partner with marketing on lead generation and positioning specific to the AI inspection platform.

Customer Support

  • Maintain relationships with closed inspection customers and integrator partners to ensure a strong reference base and identify expansion opportunities as new platform products launch.
  • Loop in technical teams as needed to support customer success post-close.

  • 2+ years of experience in a Solutions Engineer, Technical Sales, or Field Application Engineer role, explicitly selling complex hardware/software solutions into manufacturing environments.
  • Strong familiarity with machine vision systems (2D vs 3D sensors, optics, and lighting) or industrial automation components (PLCs, robotics, factory automation protocols). Knowledge of industrial welding processes (MIG, TIG, laser, spot) is a significant asset.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, or a diploma or training in engineering technology, automation, robotics, or mechatronics, or equivalent hands-on industrial field experience.
  • Willingness to travel up to 20–40%, including international travel (primarily to the United States) to manufacturing facilities and partner sites for on-site discoveries, testing, and system deployments. A valid passport is required.
  • Valid driver’s license and an acceptable driving record, with the ability to be covered under TrueLight’s insurance policy for business driving.
