Hexcel is currently seeking a Technical Sales Engineer for our Bangalore, India location.

The selected individual will be responsible for but not limited to the following obligations:

  • Provide on-site technical support to customers in the South Asia region in collaboration with the Sales team and global resources.
  • Support the introduction of new or alternative Hexcel products, including customer trials, process development, and material qualification.
  • Deliver technical solutions to customer issues related to design, stress, manufacturing, defects, and quality.
  • Provide detailed feedback on material performance and contribute to the development of sales, marketing, and product strategies.
  • Collaborate with global teams to support material modifications aimed at improving product performance where required.
  • Define and justify technical projects with the Sales team, including securing laboratory support from global facilities when needed.
  • Act as technical expert for specific programs, markets, or regions, and provide support to Technical Support Engineers across Asia Pacific and beyond.
  • Deliver on-site customer support outside the assigned region when required.
  • Produce clear technical reports upon project completion, outlining issues, root causes, and proposed solutions, while respecting commercial and IP constraints.
  • Manage customer-specific qualification programs in collaboration with Sales, including specification negotiations and coordination with global technical resources.

Qualifications:

  • Degree educated (or equivalent) in Engineering or Materials Science.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience working on aerospace projects within the composites, chemical, or materials industry.
  • Strong understanding of current and emerging markets, technologies, and industry trends. Preferred (but not essential) experience with Hexcel composites materials and their processing methods.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with cultural awareness, patience, and the ability to communicate effectively across diverse teams.
  • Fluent in English
  • Self-motivated with a proactive and results-driven approach to work.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to solve problems and influence or motivate others.
  • Demonstrates enthusiasm for the composites industry, with a strong drive to succeed and deliver results.
  • Proven experience collaborating with government organizations and supporting successful bid and tender submissions.
