Job Description:
This job is responsible for providing leadership, technical direction and oversight to a team delivering technology solutions. Key responsibilities of the job are to provide oversight of the design, implementation, and maintenance of complex computer programs, align technical solutions to business objectives, and ensure that coding practices/quality comply with software development standards. Job expectations include conducting multiple software implementations and applying both depth and breadth in knowledge of several technical competencies.

Position Summary:

Enterprise Independent Testing (EIT) Technology, part of the Enterprise Risk & Finance Technology (ERFT) organization, delivers innovative technology solutions that enable Bank of America's Enterprise Independent Testing function. The team develops and supports platforms that enhance testing efficiency, automation, data-driven insights, and risk management capabilities across the bank's lines of business and control functions.

EIT is in search of a talented Technical Feature Lead, who will drive the end-to-end delivery of complex technology initiatives while providing technical leadership across the software development lifecycle. The role serves as the key interface between business stakeholders, product management, architecture, and engineering teams, ensuring successful delivery of strategic business outcomes. The successful candidate will combine strong delivery leadership with hands-on technical expertise, guiding solution design, managing delivery risks, and driving execution across multiple teams. 

Responsibilities:

• Designs, develops and is accountable for feature delivery
• Applies enterprise standards for solution design, coding and quality
• Ensures solution meets product acceptance criteria with minimal technical debt
• Guides the team on work breakdown and execution
• Works with the Product Owner to ensure that product backlog/requirements are healthy, with clear acceptance criteria
• Plays a team lead role (as an individual contributor) and mentors the team
• Guides team members with skills and practices (planning and estimation, peer reviews, and other engineering practices)
• Lead complex cross-functional initiatives by managing dependencies, risks, and execution across multiple teams, ensuring successful delivery of strategic business outcomes
• Provide technical leadership and governance by reviewing solution approaches, challenging design decisions, and ensuring alignment with enterprise architecture, security, compliance, and operational standards
• Act as the primary stakeholder liaison, driving communication with Product Owners, Architects, engineering teams, and senior leadership to manage priorities, escalations, delivery commitments, and production support

Required Qualifications:

• 8+ years of experience in software engineering, technology delivery, or technical leadership roles
• Strong knowledge of Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs, Kafka, messaging frameworks, and integration patterns
• Experience working closely with Architecture, Product Management, QA, and DevOps organizations
• Familiarity with Jira, Confluence, and Agile delivery tools and backlog management
• Previous experience as a Lead Developer, Technical Lead, Software Engineer III
• Proven experience leading delivery of complex enterprise technology solutions and cross-functional teams
• Strong background in Java application development and modern software engineering practices
• Experience working with distributed systems, APIs, system integrations, and event-driven architectures
• Demonstrated ability to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions
• Experience leading technical design discussions and providing oversight to development teams and strong stakeholder management and communication skills
• Proven ability to manage risks, dependencies, and competing priorities in large enterprise environments
• Experience supporting production systems and driving resolution of complex technical issues

Desired Qualifications:

• Experience with cloud platforms, DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and application modernization initiatives
• Understanding of database design, SQL, and enterprise data integration patterns
• Experience leading strategic transformation or modernization programs

Pay range

$106,500.00 - $173,700.00 annualized salary, offers to be determined based on experience, education and skill set.

Discretionary incentive eligible

This role is eligible to participate in the annual discretionary plan. Employees are eligible for an annual discretionary award based on their overall individual performance results and behaviors, the performance and contributions of their line of business and/or group; and the overall success of the Company.
