Keywords Studios Asia is currently looking to expand its team. We're currently looking for AAA, experienced Technical Designers with prior AAA game development experience. This opportunity will be based fully on-site at our Singapore Studio. This is a six month contract with possible extension.

Keywords Studios is a global leader providing art services to AAA Publishers. Our work can be seen across many of the top selling titles on console and PC. We've secured several exciting AAA IP projects and anticipating further project announcements in 2026. You'll get to work alongside seasoned developers bringing expertise from world class AAA studios.

Requirements

We are looking for enthusiastic and self-motivated Technical Designers and Gameplay Engineers to join our Singapore-based team working on an exciting, new, and unannounced AAA project.

This role sits at the intersection of design and engineering, with a focus on designing, prototyping and implementing gameplay systems, mechanics and content.

We welcome experienced Technical Designers, as well as Gameplay Engineers who enjoy working closely with design and want to have a greater influence on how gameplay features are conceived, prototyped and developed.

What you will do:

  • Design, implement, and iterate on complex and technically challenging gameplay systems and content.
  • Write gameplay scripts to implement game content and prototype designs.
  • Write and maintain technical design documentation for gameplay systems and content.
  • Communicate with engineering, art, and other disciplines to produce implementation plans according to design specifications.
  • Deconstruct broad specifications into actionable tasks for designers, engineers, technical artists, and artists.
  • Drive and follow-up on the production of features, ensuring communication and collaboration across disciplines to meet deadlines.
  • Conduct regular playtesting sessions to gather user feedback and inform subsequent design iterations and refinements.
  • Polish the gameplay experience for quality and accessibility to ship amazing products.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of design principles and trends in the industry.
  • Learn from and share knowledge with peers on a regular basis.

Candidates should be/have:

  • Professional experience in Technical Design, Gameplay Engineering, Gameplay Programming, or a closely related gameplay development role.
  • Experience with Unreal, Unity, or proprietary engines.
  • Experience contributing to at least one shipped title, ideally at AAA scale.
  • Proficient in gameplay and mission scripting tools and languages (e.g. C++, C#, Lua, Blueprint or other visual scripting tools).
  • Effective aptitude in basic programming principles.
  • Confident in their technical ability to implement low-fidelity prototypes to prove out ideas.
  • An interest in both the technical and design aspects of gameplay development.
  • Effective technical communicators in both written and verbal mediums.
  • Comfortable collaborating closely across design, engineering and other disciplines.

We are hiring across mid and senior levels, and responsibilities will be calibrated based on experience

Our recruitment process will require you to complete an online programming assessment, a game design assignment and an interview with our Design Director.

Candidates must be based in Singapore. We are not offering sponsorship or relocation due to the opportunity being contract. Unfortunately remote will not be considered due to client requirements.
