As a Lead Cloud-Native Web Applications Architect, you’ll shape the technical strategy and guide hands-on development for an advanced micro‑frontend and microservices ecosystem that powers real‑time weather intelligence used across critical federal missions.
You’ll architect cloud-native systems on AWS, mentor engineers, and set engineering standards across the stack—ensuring our applications deliver real‑time radar, satellite, model, and observational data with 99.99% reliability, strong FISMA High compliance, and exceptional user experience.
The Work
Lead & Architect
- Drive the end-to-end architecture of a cloud-native micro‑frontend ecosystem and distributed data platform on AWS.
- Define modular, scalable approaches to micro-frontends, microservices, APIs, and real‑time streaming pipelines.
- Establish engineering standards spanning backend, data, front-end frameworks, performance, and security.
Build Modern Mission-Driven Solutions
- Develop REST/GraphQL APIs and Node.js BFF services running on Kubernetes for high-performance web clients.
- Deliver rich, responsive, cloud-hosted micro-frontends using JavaScript/TypeScript and modern web frameworks (React preferred; Angular/Vue welcomed).
- Build real-time hazard streaming capabilities (WebSockets, SSE, event-driven pipelines).
Optimize for Scale, Speed, and Resilience
- Architect caching, tiling, and front-end delivery strategies for geospatial and time-series data.
- Implement secure RBAC via AWS Cognito/JWT and ensure compliance with federal security standards.
- Engineer geospatial, spatial, and historical data solutions that support complex visualization and analytic workflows.
Collaborate & Lead
- Partner with DevOps to establish CI/CD pipelines, IaC practices, and efficient deployment strategies.
- Mentor engineers, drive code reviews, shape roadmap discussions, and cultivate high-quality engineering practices.
Here’s What You Need:
- 6+ years full-stack engineering experience, including leadership of complex, cloud-native programs.
- 5+ years hands-on microservices/API development with Kubernetes orchestration.
- Strong experience with AWS services (EKS, S3, DynamoDB, RDS) and cloud-native architectures.
- Expertise in modern JavaScript/TypeScript and micro‑frontend design (ReactJS strongly preferred).
- Strong API design experience (REST, GraphQL); Docker/container orchestration on AWS.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and technical leadership capabilities.
Bonus Points if you have:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or related field.
- AWS Solutions Architect certification.
- Experience with meteorological formats (GRIB, BUFR, NetCDF) and geospatial DBs (PostGIS).
- Background with FISMA-regulated environments, scientific computing, or advanced AWS serverless + EKS.
As required by local law, Accenture Federal Services provides reasonable ranges of compensation for hired roles based on labor costs in the states of California, Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, New Jersey, New York, Vermont, Virginia, Washington, and the District of Columbia, and the city of Cleveland. The base pay range for this position in these locations is shown below. Compensation for roles at Accenture Federal Services varies depending on a wide array of factors, including but not limited to office location, role, skill set, and level of experience. $129,800—$224,100 USD
