Job Summary

  • A technical lead for a team focused on designing and building enterprise cloud infrastructure automation, pipeline, CI/CD patterns and cloud capabilities for AWS. Focus on overall product implementation with responsibilities that include providing technical guidance for team members, ensuring cost-effectiveness, quality of solution, design, and implementation.

  • As a Tech Lead Software Engineer - MarTech / Content Supply Chain, you’ll provide hands-on technical leadership for the CMS, cloud, integration, and DevOps capabilities that power Southwest’s enterprise Content Supply Chain. You’ll help design scalable platforms and reusable engineering patterns across digital content, CMS, DAM, APIs, cloud services, and enterprise integrations.

    You’ll remain deeply engaged in architecture and engineering decisions while raising the bar for code quality, automation, platform reliability, and engineering productivity. You’ll work across US and India teams and partner with Product, Architecture, Security, QA, and platform stakeholders to turn MarTech strategy into secure, scalable, and operationally reliable technology.

Responsibilities

  • Work with other leaders to shape, improve and evolve the cloud platform vision and strategy for the future of cloud infrastructure and help manage the adoption process

  • Operate in a DevOps culture and team, responsible for architecture, design, development, implementation, and ongoing operations of new and emerging technology platforms

  • Evaluate cloud services and architecture to identify strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems

  • Implement automation tools and frameworks for automatic code deployment (CI/CD)

  • Work with the development team to deploy and manage tools that support SDLC automation, configuration management, and release management

  • Create state-of-the-art technical architectures with automation to support complex delivery across a wide range of digital and enterprise applications

  • Consult with stakeholders to specify requirements and solutions which address business challenges and opportunities

  • Serve as a subject matter expert in cloud infrastructure, performing design reviews and consulting with internal teams to ensure design best practices

  • Participate in system and acceptance testing to ensure that systems are functionally appropriate, technically sound, and well-integrated

  • Lead, define and clearly communicate technical standards, governance, and compliance for cloud ecosystem

  • May perform other job duties as directed by Employee's Leaders

  • Lead the technical design and delivery of scalable CMS, cloud, integration, and DevOps capabilities supporting the enterprise Content Supply Chain.

  • Make architecture and technical design decisions across modern web applications, APIs, DAM platforms, content workflows, cloud services, and enterprise applications.

  • Design and evolve API-first and event-driven solutions using REST/GraphQL APIs, microservices, messaging, middleware, and related integration patterns.

  • Drive full-stack CMS and content engineering solutions across headful and headless content experiences, with Adobe AEM or comparable enterprise CMS platforms strongly preferred.

  • Establish and improve CI/CD, infrastructure-as-code, observability, security, performance, reliability, and operational standards for production CMS and cloud platforms.

  • Lead design reviews, code-quality practices, engineering standards, reusable architecture patterns, and technical decision-making across delivery teams.

  • Partner with Product, Architecture, Security, QA, and platform teams to translate business and product requirements into scalable technical solutions.

  • Mentor engineers and provide technical direction on architecture, implementation quality, troubleshooting, engineering practices, and delivery execution.

  • Support distributed US and India engineering teams and coordinate technical dependencies across product, platform, and delivery pods.

  • Evaluate emerging technologies and AI-assisted engineering practices that can improve developer productivity, automation, scalability, reliability, and customer value.

  • Drive production reliability through actionable monitoring, logging, tracing, alerting, and operational metrics for distributed MarTech platforms.

  • Contribute to modernization initiatives that improve platform scalability, engineering velocity, maintainability, and the reuse of common platform capabilities.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Knowledge of AWS Infrastructure as a Service Automation tools like Cloud Formation

  • Knowledge of AWS compute, data sources, security technologies

  • Knowledge of infrastructure-as-code (IAC)

  • Skilled in deployment strategies using Docker for containerization

  • Knowledge of the monitoring and management of the build and deployment processes and infrastructure

  • Ability to analyze services to ensure security best practices are followed

  • Ability to mentor and guide team members' learning, including introducing new ideas and technologies

  • Skilled in evaluating, onboarding, and managing new technologies/services/features

  • Ability to anticipate business needs and lead a team towards identifying and solving cross-domain problems

  • Strong enterprise software technical leadership experience designing and delivering scalable applications across CMS, cloud, digital, or platform environments.

  • Deep hands-on engineering expertise across modern web applications, APIs, DAM platforms, content workflows, and enterprise content technologies.

  • Strong understanding of API-first and event-driven architecture, including REST/GraphQL APIs, microservices, messaging, middleware, and enterprise integrations.

  • Strong platform engineering and reliability expertise covering CI/CD, infrastructure as code, observability, security, performance, resiliency, and production operations.

  • Strong technical leadership and mentoring capability, including design reviews, code quality, reusable engineering standards, technical decision-making, and team guidance.

  • Ability to balance hands-on engineering depth with broader technical leadership and execution across distributed teams.

  • Strong problem-solving and systems-thinking skills across interconnected CMS, MarTech, cloud, and enterprise technology ecosystems.

  • Strong collaboration and stakeholder-management skills with the ability to influence Product, Architecture, Security, QA, and engineering partners.

  • Ability to translate complex technical and business requirements into scalable, maintainable, secure, and reliable solutions.

  • Ability to establish engineering standards that improve delivery quality, platform reliability, developer productivity, and operational performance.

Education

  • Required: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems or related field and/or equivalent formal training

Experience

  • Required: Expert-level experience, expansive and far-reaching knowledge in Cloud software or DevOps

  • 8-10 years of relevant work-related experience

  • 3+ years of experience leading engineers, architecture decisions, code quality, and execution across CMS, cloud, digital, or platform environments.

  • 6–8+ years of experience across modern web applications, APIs, DAM platforms, and content workflows; Adobe AEM or a comparable enterprise CMS is strongly preferred.

  • 6–8+ years of experience designing REST/GraphQL APIs, microservices, messaging, and middleware integrations across CMS, DAM, Adobe, cloud, and enterprise applications.

  • 6–8+ years of experience establishing CI/CD, infrastructure as code, observability, security, performance, and operational standards for production CMS and cloud platforms.

  • Demonstrated experience leading design reviews, guiding engineers, establishing reusable engineering standards, and partnering with Product, Architecture, Security, QA, and distributed delivery teams.

  • Demonstrated ability to work across geographically distributed engineering teams and coordinate technical dependencies across multiple product and platform pods.

  • Preferred:

    • AWS Solutions Architect or AWS Developer certification.

    • Adobe Experience Manager certification.

    • Hands-on experience with Adobe AEM Sites/Assets, Workfront, Fusion, headless CMS, or high-volume digital content delivery.

    • Experience applying AI-assisted development, reusable platform engineering, developer portals, or engineering-productivity metrics.

    • Prior leadership of distributed US/India engineering teams or delivery across multiple product and platform pods.

    • Experience leading observability practices for distributed MarTech platforms using Grafana, Kibana, or comparable tools, including dashboards, logging, tracing, actionable alerts, and production reliability metrics.

    • Experience building and operating secure MCP servers and agentic integrations on AWS, including tool authentication, serverless or container deployment, observability, and production reliability.

  • Must meet confidentiality expectations regarding confidential, proprietary and sensitive Company information.

  • Ability to work extended hours as needed.

  • Ability to work onsite approximately 3 days per week and as required by the business.
