Job Description

Summary

The Teledyne group provides enabling technologies for industrial growth markets that require advanced technology and high reliability. These markets include digital imaging, aerospace and defense, factory automation, air and water quality environmental monitoring, electronics design and development, oceanographic research, deepwater oil and gas exploration and production, medical imaging and pharmaceutical research.

The role will focus on UK and US tax compliance processes, statutory account preparation and ad-hoc tax support for Teledyne group entities in the UK. The role is located at Teledyne’s Chelmsford site as part of the UK Tax team, reporting directly to the UK Head of Tax. The role will report to the UK Compliance Controller in respect of the statutory account preparation responsibilities. The UK Tax team is part of the Teledyne Group Tax team located across USA, Canada, UK and continental Europe.

We’re looking for a team player with a flexible can-do approach with strong attention to detail.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

Management of corporation tax compliance processes for the UK group:

• Coordination with external provider, including answering queries;

• End to end management of the compliance process;

• Work with Tax Accountant on detailed analyses of tax sensitive GL accounts and fixed assets;

• Support patent box calculations.

 UK statutory accounting:

• Preparation of statutory accounts for UK companies, including disclosure notes;

• Responding to external auditor requests;

• Supporting other ad hoc requests.

Other responsibilities:

• Completion of e2v US Foreign tax packs for Group Tax;

• Maintaining share options schedules including reconciliations of share options control account.

• Provide support on other UK tax matters such as HMRC Corporation Tax enquiries and questions, transfer pricing documentation and implementation, Tax governance processes, tax support for acquisitions and legal entity restructurings.

Experience:

• Professionally qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA)

• Solid understanding of intercompany accounting, consolidation, US GAAP, and statutory compliance.

• Experience of ERP systems, ideally including SAP/SAP4Hana

• Interest / experience in Tax. Tax qualification helpful.

• Experience of preparing tax packs/returns

• Minimum of intermediate Excel skills

• Excellent planning and organisational skills
